Nice! I'm about to completely redo the lift and suspension, it's old and almost every bushing is falling apart. Figure it's easier to upgrade to an A-arm lift with new leafs out back than replace everything individually.

Also, I have an out of round tire so probably new alloy wheels and tires are in order...

lol just read the edit, that pretty much sums up a lot of the threads in this forum

Oh man! are you going to run wheel spacers? Cab mount chop? Solid axle swap? Are you going to use the Subaru tweeters? What about pastidipping everything? What about a Pro Grill with 2020 LED headlights?

How's the transmission? Roof top tent? High lift jack? Where are you going to carry the spare? What tires should you run? What about a big brake kit?

Sweet, yea mine's registered so I can drive it all over town as well. Just can't go on 4 lane roads, which there's two in my area so no worries there lol

I take it on beer runs ALL. THE. TIME.

The Vortex is all about wings. For me. Get it from Owens BBQ to make sure you don't end up with one of the cheap Chinese knockoffs. They are worth it for me. Get both the Weber kettle and WSM while your at it :anonymous:

Let them go 50-60 minutes I rotate the lid every 15 minutes only to give me something to do. Once they are close to being done take the wing bowl that you washed and dried and add your sauce. Heat and stir.

Doesn't take long once sauce is ready pull the wings and toss in the bowl. Put back on 8-10 minutes be careful to not burn them. You can put the apple wood back on.

Pull them before they start to burn and put back in the bowl. Toss again.

Celery and blu cheese and ready

And before you know it you'll have a boneyard.

I wanted a rear bumper mount winch but with the AC on the Northstar and muffler being relocated to the rear isn't room. They are light enough a come along works well if you need to pull yourself out. Gots LED Lightbar on front. Largest tires that will fit before I even picked it up sold the OEM tires and rims in the dealer parking lot to someone. Gas mileage is a LOT better than the Taco! And she will break 60+ mph but gets a bit squirrely on logging roads at that speed with the gravel and short wheelbase.

Oh and I did get sliders for it. And combo bumper and brush bar

They do make a Highlifter edition but don't think I care to lift it any higher. Might do a clutch reprogram at some point though.

I used to work on a Conservation crew that did controlled burns... Had one similar to this that had a 100 gallon water tank on the back with a pump and plumbed with sprayers in front of the rear tires for laying down wet lines and a Powerwasher type nozzle for quick attacks on spot fires. Hella fun to drive all day while lighting fire!

Me too my always faithful companion. End of next month will be taking in his sister on a rehome. I must be nuts. At 5 he is finally starting to mellow a little bit, we were just out on the deck getting the 26" kettle going.

    smoking.jpg

I love that new 26" kettle and have hardly touched any of my other grills or smokers since I got it. Should have gotten it years ago.

Couple of months ago tried to get some real smoke on the Pit Boss so took a pellet tray put a few pieces of charcoal on it and some wood chips. What could go wrong?! :anonymous:

    pit boss damage.jpg

Just a heads up the paint really isn't made for higher temperatures, don't do that LOL. Finally ordered some high temp paint for it today.

Went to wrap some asparagus with bacon and no bacon in the house  Not even a pork belly :pout: So cleaned it, snapped the stems and put it in cast iron pan. With olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and grated some Parmesan cheese on top.

Brined a couple of pounds of boneless skinless chicken thighs for a couple of hours. Rinsed well then top coated with some Montreal Chicken Seasoning.

    start.jpg

Honestly don't recall the last time I had asparagus without being wrapped in bacon. Must be at least a decade or so ago but this might work. Did I mention I love the 26" kettle for smoking?!

That’s awesome that you’re taking in his sister. 2 of my 3 dogs are brother and sister, they’ll be 13 this year. Inseparable, I think in those 13 years they’ve only been apart once when she stayed at the vet overnight for surgery. Hell, they’re crashed out beside me snoring on the couch:

Troubles me some that you actually ran out of bacon. I keep an emergency pack for times like this. Think I’ll stay up a spell, kinda shook up. Could have bad dreams.
