 I love this thing so much. Can't leave it alone. Swapped out the trigger guard, adjusted the 2 stage trigger a bit, and picked up another Lancer mag..

I learned to shoot on a .22 cal Benjamin Franklin model 342 as soon as I got old enough to hold it, dad cut the stock down to fit. I guess I was about 4.. Still have it.

But geez I'll never forget, later when I was around 11, there was a squirrel I decided to hunt way in the top of a huge oak. Well I kept shooting it and it would run around the other side of the tree... I thought I was missing it, bc it never fell out. I was perplexed bc I'd become I pretty sharp shooter..

Anyway long story short, sometime after~maybe a month, the squirrel showed up in the yard looking for food etc.. To this day I feel bad for it, it looked like it had gotten hit with chicken pox or something.. I bet I'd hit that thing well over a dozen times. I think I was using the pointed pellets too. Poor little fella.

    Here it is.

Great story. I remember the Franklin model. It was the precursor to the Sheridan I believe. Benjamin has always made a great air rifle. I found out how powerful mine is one day after those squirrels were emptying my feeders daily. The tree they hang from is right outside of the front window. Maybe only 10 yards, and obviously too close for anything other than a hollow point. I had already dialed it in so I was surprised to miss at such a close range. The squirrel didn't budge. The second shot was disturbing when I saw fur floating back toward me and the squirrel still sitting there. That's when I decided to switch to a heavier pellet.

it has a factory flip up rear currently. I'm actually in the process of changing it all up though. Wanting to run another Eotech, probably the XPS2-2, but also want to retain full co-witness if possible. So I'm planning on swapping out the solid Hood front sight to a MFI factory flip up, paired with a MFI flip up rear. SHOULD be out of view while using the Eotech, but then have full co-witness flipped up... for if the eotech battery ever dies or malfunctions.

Thanks! I have always loved the Sig 55x series. Big nerd on the history of em too. Wanted one since.. I think ever. lol Just always hard to find and out of my price range.

I like Irons honestly.. and will be getting those and practicing first before the Eotech gets slapped on. I just cannot focus through the factory rear peep sight on this thing.

Is yours a 551? Either that SWAT model or a 552 commando are on the list of my dream guns. From what I’ve seen available, they run between $3k - $5k. Doable, just need to be disciplined about saving.

Its a P556 Swat. picked it up for $1850, including the Law Tactical folder and SB brace. It (was) brand new, unfired until I bought it. built in 2014.

I'd LOVE a 553... thats my ultimate Dream Sig.. but maybe when I can afford 3k+ and can even source one. This 556 is just as satisfying though.

Pffff! $1,850 is actually affordable (for me anyway). Maybe I missed it, but barrel length on that beast?

Well hot dang. I could pick that up before the end of the year. Better make some room in the safe.

Thanks for sharing and congrats. That’s an awesome firearm.

they are out there, just gotta be on the lookout. I was lucky enough to snag this one before it too sold. They go quick, especially out here. The biggest thing is that it was unfired like I said. I've found Pistol variants for as low as 1k.. some even less. But they are worn heavily, not Swats, etc. This one checked off all boxes on my list, minus it being a Swiss Variant, but I can always source and swap lowers/stocks down the road and SBR it. Thats my end goal.

Certain Gens go for more than others. Price also depends on Variant, lower receiver style, sight style, etc. I love the history on these things, so I could go on forever.

long story short.. lots of variables and configurations out there that span multiple generations to make the price very drastically.

I just posted a Springfield 911 and a Savage 93R17 for sell, I may regret it.

Had to look this dude up. Seems like he is known to be an avid shooter and even does cage fighting. Doesn’t look like a small dude either, I’m guessing there was a better mark out there for those guys to have picked. lol
