All of the slate roof guys have gone the way of the dodo bird. I could have just waited until today till my buddy came over to help me but my impatience got the best of me. I wanted to be ready to work at first light because it’s going to rain tonight and every day for a while. I only get 1 or sometimes 2 days a week to do shit around here and it seems like it always rains those days.

Last summer I caught our almost 80 year old neighbor on a ladder with a blower cleaning his gutters. Next thing I knew his wife was at our door asking for help cause he feel and hit his head.
Dude is confused, doesn’t recall what happened. So we pack them up to the ED where they scan him and find a small head bleed. Was the one weekend we didn’t have neuro surgery on call so they were gonna fly him to Phx just in case he needed surgery.
“Helicopter?? Fuck That!!!” He says and splits against medical advice. Tough old guy and SUPER PROUD!
Convinced him to go get a second scan when I knew we had services and fortunately it was clean.
