No evidence for this but I do believe used car prices are going to go down significantly as some have said here along with some articles saying the same. With trade value being a large portion of my purchase I don’t think all dealers have adjusted for this yet so I figured go for it now.

I would say that is a smart choice, while the market is sort of paralyzed try to maximize both ends of the deal, plenty of auto industry people mentioning the impending doom on 3 fronts, there is huge evidence of a lending crisis, evidence of a bubble in used car prices and over inventory and of course new car sales in the sh*tter. You may be able to get a sweet deal in a few months on a new car but I bet your trade is worth a decent chunk less than what is was precrisis.

Traded my 2018 TRD Sport for a 2020 Offroad, 41525 OTD after everything. It’s the highest package and has about everything you could put on it, I can list it all if anyone wants to know. Just under 45 sticker, got them down to 39, and I got the 0 for 60. Fell I did alight, I got full value for my trade so maybe I could have got more off if I didn’t have the trade, blue book on it was about 26 and they gave me 28.

Yep, pretty similar to my deal, $39k (without any rebate took the promo 1.9 at the time) for my 2020 (MSRP $44.8k), got $35k for my 2019 TRD Sport w/6k miles trade. Nice work.

Back home and in the driveway, I took my step rails off my old one before i traded and then just put them on at home. Had to go to PA from N.C. to find a manual with Premium/ advance Tech package. Hard to find in this region.

My 18 had 32 on it, had it for less than two years. First year I had it in Virginia I was commuting 70 miles almost round trip everyday so I put almost 20 thousand on it in the first year.

Ya I feel ya, first trade offer was $32.5k for mine and then I pitted dealers against each other to get to the $35k (used manager was not happy when I was signing paperwork w/finance guy), they had it listed certified for $36.7k and was gone in a week, but it was clean, ceramic coated w/SCS wheels and Nittos.

You do like to trade your Tacos, WOW man that’s awesome. I pitted 3 dealerships against each other I was trying to get a pro, got them down to 44 with everything OTD but best I could do on financing was 4 percent and I wasn’t going to pay that when I could get 0.

Ya man, bit of an expert at the expense of my wallet on trading, and honestly TRD OR is the better bet value wise imho, you did good.

Not huge, but ya its got a $1500 mark up, MSRP should be closer to $46.5k for that truck, unless they're charging him that for the tint and "scratch protection"

Automotive News reported that wholesale values are down between 10% and 12%

That means a used Tacoma that had a value of $30,000 now has a value of less than $27,000.

Congratulations! Beautiful truck. Curious is all, but may I ask? How were you able to purchase this in Pennsylvania? My 2020 has been sitting on the dealers lot for a month now and I still can't pick it up.
