So I bought a black 2017 taco, in Southern California and the sunglasses holder gets hot as heck. Was thinking about drilling a couple holes in the holder to vent some of the heat.

Has anyone tried this? Has it helped?

Looking for any ideas to keep things cooler

    Thanks,

    Bob

Sub'd. My glasses always burn the skin off my face after sitting in that holder during the summer. I've gotten into the habit of holding them in front of my AC vents for a good minute before attempting to put them on.

I'm not sure that will have much effect on the temp inside the sunglasses holder

Good point, never had a 2wd Taco, figured no CC on the 2wd OR, but maybe wrong.

Ok so to cool the glasses, you just need to do a simple hack.
    FD93E0A9-00B0-48CD-8135-EF0E4C2ABF7B.jpg

A couple holes, install this copper coil with the coil ends hanging free through the holes. Then, you attach tubing to both ends and route it to a fishtank pump. You submerge the fishtank pimp into a 7-11 thirsty 2 ounce cup and fill it with Baja blast. Tuck the cup behind the evap core, and wire into your a/c 12 volt. Easy peasy

White is still hot. The cab in the 3rd gen is hotter than my 2nd gen was.
Had radiant red.... now I got white.

And apparently so do 2WD auto ORs. Sweet, so we both could be right!

I doubt it will help much unless you put a fan in to move air. I don't use it during the summer. My girl had a pair of Rayban lenses deform in her car in a ceiling mounted sunglass holder like our trucks.
