New AVS vent visor, low profile

Anyone tried the new avs low profile vent visors? Any pics? These are a newer model and are NOT in channel. They install with 3m strips to the outside. Just wondering if anyone has pictures. Might replace my older ones with these. Saw them on a 4runner today and it looked nice.

 

Stick to the in channel. The stick ons are ghetto af.

 

I have the stick on now and they are great. No problems. I like them better than the inchannel because they keep water out of the moldings.

 

I prefer in channel as well, still haven't gotten them yet though.

 

Bump cause interested. Saw a 3rd gen with the stick-on low profile, and while I was always an in-channel guy, that new AVS low profile looked sleek af.

Haven't been able to find any photos of the low profile AVS on a second gen, so I went ahead a bought. Here they are installed.

 

I got the dark matte ones installed. just took off my in channel ones

HOW DARE YOU.

 

I had the in channel ones and developed a whistle at high wind speed. (Driving into the wind 65+) Or REALLY speeding but lets just say it was "into the wind." First noticed it driving around home and never could find it. Sounded like it was coming from the top of the windshield on the passenger side. Fast forward to a trip to Iowa for Christmas one year and ALL the way across the state of Missouri was into the wind. Drove me absolutely NUTS! 8 year old in the passenger seat was no help in diagnosis so I stopped at wally world and got some blue painters tape and taped off the top of the windshield. Still there. Taped off the pass side of the windshield. Still there. By that time I'd made it to my destination. Barring the ridicule from my brother about how "trashy it looked" I was stumped. A few months later I noticed if the pass widow was just off fully seated it lessened. (Window not down at all but just off where is stops.) So I broke out the painters tape and taped off the window seal. Fixed it! New window seals are expansive and a PITA to put in so I opted to trade the inside the channel ones for the stick on the outside ones. Haven't heard the noise since.

 

No experience with the in-channel, but my stick-ons had a TEENY bit of wind noise when I first drove it after install. By end of the day, I completely forgot about it. Also, was a 10 minute install, mainly from unpackaging the vacuum sealed visors.
