Sorry to see that happen to your new truck but in the future try to plan a bit before you go out. Have an idea of what the area looks like. And the main point I'd like to make: a tree shouldn't die because you are a moron, especially on public land. If you are on private land and the owner is cool with it, go ahead, no one will stop you. But on public land it is both illegal without the proper permits and an uncool move.

Maybe now that its a bit scratched up, you can start on mods sooner without feeling guilty? (that's gotta be a record - 2 days!) Make some space for those 33" tyres so you can climb the tree next time, or push past it with sliders and an exoskeleton?

About $300 a panel plus $250-$500 for the rocker

I slid into a power pole like this in my 2nd gen, got a box side at a salvage yard for $400, 2 doors for $400, and I cut out that side of the cab about midway up the Center post and half way up the rocker on the drivers door and halfway up the rear window, they let me have that piece for $200. Welded it into my truck and sent it to someone else to finish it and paint the cab. Doors and box side were already silver and didn’t need paint.

It ended up costing me about $3000 by the time it was done and you couldn’t tell the difference.

Found out later I bent the rearend housing, but I was able to straighten it within spec with come alongs and a oxy/acet torch.

Everything is fixable.

I had to replace two doors and paint the 1/4 on my wife’s car, cost to insurance was $5000. If your rocker and bedside have damage I bet you’re closer to $10k

 

Kinda nice to see someone own up to what actually happened and take responsibility. I hope it doesn't hurt your wallet too much.

Now we know why insurance premiums are high. I’ll bet it’s a lease too

 

Looks like two door skins, bedside, dress / bondo on the doorsill and cab corner, plus paint. Probably $8000 all said and done at insurance rates. Since the truck is worth $35,000+, it will not be totalled by most insurance companies' metrics.

Look on the bright side. Now you can comfortably enjoy your new truck off-road without worrying about pinstripes.
