$390/6 months. I'm just guessing, but depending on where you live, the theft rate drives the rates more than anything else.

Credit score and zip code play a HUGE part in what you pay for insurance in my neck of the woods. If you have any accidents or tickets your just giving an insurance company a big stick to ram up your a**.

Im paying $860 for 6 months of coverage for 2 vehicles, my 2020 Toyota Tacoma Off-Road Edition pays $482 and my moms 2000 Toyota Corolla pays $378 with no collision coverage and no comprehensive coverage. My Truck has a $500 deductible on Collision and a $1,000 deductible on comprehensive coverage. I usually dont like to use insurance claims for comprehensive damage but when selecting my quote it kept saying that it was required so I went with a $1,000 deductible in case something catastrophic happens and I need to use it.

This is what my insurance quotes look like with Progressive (6 months of insurance).

Youre premium will be based off age, record and vehicle. If you’re under 25 you’re going to pay more. If you have accidents and tickets you’re going to pay more.

I was paying 150 a month for a grand Cherokee When I was 19 and had the lowest coverages possible.

I’m 30 now and I pay 285 a month now for my 2020 4runner, 2017 Mercedes c300, renters insurance, electronic insurance and firearm insurance. (Not sure what I’m paying per item as its bundled together). My cars are maxed out in every coverage category and my deductibles are 250 per car.

    age really matters.

Location too, im paying $482 with less coverage than that for my Tacoma and im 35 (5 years older than you) but since South Florida is one of the biggest insurance fraud locations in the country the people who live down here get to pay higher insurance rates as a prize.

Edit: oops I thought you meant $285 for 6 months of coverage but your paying $285 a month which comes out to $1,710 for 6 months of coverage. Location still has a huge influence on insurance rates though, thats why they ask where the vehicle will be garaged most of the time when you select an insurance quote.

And a large portion of those lunatics aren't insured...which is one reason the rest of us have higher rates.

That is interesting and good to know. Have saved and filed for my report

I didn’t see the huge price decrease with age as everyone’s referring to. Granted I’ve had only liability up until the taco. But even then I remember always expecting a big decrease once I hit 25, then again at 30 but somewhere along the way I stopped waiting for this mystical dream. I’m paying roughly 75-80 I think a month (plans like 125-130 with second vehicle) w/ State Farm

Some states are “No fault”, I believe Mich is one. This contributes to the high Auto insurance rates.

Had a jeep rubicon lifted and all and was paying $85 mo. Got the Tacoma and now $215 mo. I shopped around and all around the same price.
was told it is because it’s a Toyota (bull shit)
No points/no accidents-nothing -credit score in the 700’s
    Just a complete scam!!

I had the mechanical part of my insurance with Gieco dropped or my insurance would be $10 more a month. I figure when my Toyota warranty runs out I'll add it back on.

So glad I found this thread. I’ve been meaning go change my insurance for awhile. I pay 150 a month here is az, which isn’t bad, but I don’t drive the truck much. It’s a 2017 with only 17k miles. It’s my little adventure truck for camping and I’d like to turn into a overland type rig.

I’ve gotten emails for progressive snapshot but have been hesitant to switch due to the fact your rate can change based on how you drive the truck

You also need to consider cost of replacement in the event it’s totaled. A 2009 Honda vs a 18 Taco is a lot. The insurance companies factor that in amongst all the other things people have mentioned. I pay about $300+ a month for a 2017 Tahoe Z71 and my 2020 Pro. Coverage are 100/300 with a $500 deductible through AAA. It helps to bundle. Our home is also insured with them.

My insurance was $500 a month.... for my sports car... keep in mind I was 22 and already had a good amount of speeding tickets.... it dropped down to 350 2 years later.... now after a safe record for a good amount of time and zero accidents ...

211 for my fiancees and my truck.
It’ll drop again once her SR22 comes off this year...

Questions that come when I see this:

-do you have points on your license
    -what’s your coverage
    - age
    -area
