So I had my second antenna on a trunk lip mount on the side of the hood and just wasnt happy with how it looked so I made my own bracket tonight. Enjoy.

I think that would drive me nuts being in my field of vision. Any reason why you didn't install it on the passenger side?

Pretty sure you may catch some sh*t from some highway patrol guys about it being in your line of site. Not sure if it is illegal or not but sure is distracting.

resonance with the factory stereo antenna would have been a big problem

Its not really in the line of sight any more than any other hood mount. It was a little annoying at first, but you get used to it. the antenna is thin enough that it doesnt really block anything. I have since taken the second radio out of my truck and only use the roof mount, But copperT has been using this same mount on his truck for several months. never heard him complain about it. Neither of us has ever had a problem with police for it.

Don't really notice it even being there anymore. It may be a different story with someone using a larger antenna like a fire stik, but I like it. I have had two separate instances where an officer commented on the fact that it looked clean & was a solid way to mount it. Never mentioned anything about it being illegal or any line of sight issues.

I'm sorry to necropost, but no luck on searching. Taking my exams this weekend hopefully for tech & general. The mount looks ideal for my situation of low garage clearance and a hard tonneau cover.

Seth, do you make & sell these? If not regularly, would you do a one-off or limited run?

Yeah, I get paid to being things back from the dead. ;)

Seth, thx for the info. Fairly standard NMO thick surface mount through the hole, I assume?
