Hey @Gritto are you familiar with Dillsburg, Pa.? I hear that they have a lot of puma sightings. While we are on the subject, here’s a still shot taken from a security camera video. Does anyone reading this think this pic has been edited or doctored?

Large bob cat? Head is kinda blocked and can’t see much for a tail in the pic?

 

I just want to know if there is anything evident to others that this photo was doctored. What do you think?

Maybe? Soon in The chain link fence has a blurry spot around where the tail would be. The “links” in the fence don’t quite look the same as the ones in the surrounding area. Could it just be the camera or something els? Maybe. I can’t really tell.

 

That picture looks familiar.

 

Good eye. That was released by the game commission with their definitive determination that it is a bobcat. Below is another still shot from the same camera. It is a few seconds before the other pic. This one was on the local news when it was reported as a puma.


edit: still no tail. I wish someone would show the whole video with it walking

Oh yes.

Just west of Dillsburg is (was?) a Boy Scout Camp.
Camp Tuckahoe. Dunno if it still exists.
I got one of my few badges there...the Mile Swim at the lake.
My troop didn't give a crap about badges and ranks.
Mostly because our Scoutmaster felt it was too much work (for him).
We were a bunch of rowdies.

Anyway, for those who don't know the area, that's the northern end of South Mountain.
It's a ridge that runs from Harper's Ferry, WV, all the way to Boiling Springs, PA, not far from Harrisburg.
Most of it is encompassed by Michaux State Forest.
Which I know very well.

It's far from being the most remote part of the state, but it's heavily forested, extensive, and very rough.
I dunno, but I suspect lots (most?, all?) of those sightings were of Bobcats.
Most people are not at all good at identifying critters.

That pic looks okay to me, but I'm not the one to spot any photo fakery.
But from the markings, it's a Bobcat.
