It's alright, it was worth a shot and not the end of the world that he didn't want to.

Going to do some maintenance and touch ups on the taco today as well hopefully. Replacing the serpentine for peace of mind since I don't know the last time it was done.

 

Going to do some overseeding in some areas today and let the upcoming snow work it it nicely.

 

Well some exploratory deconstruction yielded these results. Any thoughts on next steps? There aren't any proper holes yet, so I'm open to ideas.

 

Sand, dry well, bondo concavities, sand again, and rustoleum?

Makes me fearful of what's under my cover

 

Where it's hidden behind the cover, I don't think I'd even go so far as bondo really. It's the spots that are showing outwards that I think I can sand and do the primer, paint, and clear. Got the super white paint.

 

I would knock off the loose stuff and hit it with some POR15. You can avoid the mess of spaying and brush it on. Once it dries....button it up

And you can paint over the POR15 if you wanted to hit with some Super White

 

I could do that on the inside of the tailgate, but the outside where it's visible I wouldn't want to really

 

Grind/Cut it to use as a new color matched grill??
