Does your Tacoma have the harness running from the drivers side or passenger? The instructions say to run it with the factory harness but my harness runs from the drivers side frame to the back.

Question for those who ordered. How long did it take to get a shipping confirmation or tracking number? I ordered mine back on the 13th and haven't seen any communication about it since. I know they're slammed right now so don't want to raise a stink, so was just curious how long to plan on waiting?

I ordered from BAM on 2/29, and it shipped on 3/3. But that was back in the olden days... pre-virus.

I was just at home depot they have the exact same metal zip ties that come with the kit for around the muffler area.

Does the kit include the snippers? I tried the metal shears and another type of metal scissor but the the ties are thin and those didn't work.

if you have a snipper/cutter/shearer brand, model# of sku# it be much appreciated.

Does not include snippers. I just bent mine and wrapped them around back out of the way.

I used scissors to cut them, tried wire cutters which didnt do anything other then smash and bend them.

    Hello all,

I'm new to this forums so any help will be greatly appreciate it. I just bought a factory tailgate lock but it does not come with step by step instruction on how to install. Can anyone here help me out?

I used the instructions from this thread and I have to say that I am very happy with the end result. I have a 2019 SR DC LB and did not have an additional wire harness running down the passenger side. I ran the harness over the chassis rails and the length for the kit I ordered was perfect. I also ran the bed lights from Matt Gecko LEDs with it to save some time. Like others, I did not use the metal wire ties but I don't expect to have any issues with where I ran the cables. I took my time and the longest part of the install was running the wire loom to the tailgate. It was a breeze and like everyone else says this should be part of the OEM package from the factory. I am now secure in knowing that this will give me a little piece of mind everytime I hear the "chirp" when I walk away from my truck.

Hi, Long time Toyota guy, but new to Tacomas. I just bought a 2019 TRD off-road, but it was in a collision before I got it and the tailgate has been replaced. My tailgate does not lock/unlock with the key fob. Only with the physical key

Am I reading correctly that my 2019 should have a power locking tailgate?

I believe it was a dealer added option in 2019. There's no guaranty that you would have had that option.
