Dude I’ve hauled so much in mine.
    Recently 12’ boards. No problem.
I have a toolbox so I can put stacks of 10-1x6”
Or stacks of 6-2x4” under toolbox and tie flag

Afternoon folks! Well, nothing so simple as it should be , so compromise - right?
The curve of the pool deck, the closeness of shed to said edge, and the height of the step up yields a compound set of curves that are beyond my wood butchering skills. Plus, the short side would be so steep, I'd need @hoverlover s crawl truck to scale it!!!! So...

    20200426_162939.jpg

I'll have some 4x4 cuts from greenhouse to support the steps, and I have several squares of roofing to give the ramp some grip. It s steep enough as is! But it fits everything I have going in there that rolls.

Alright done for the day, and beer time!

Got a sawhorse work table, and a couple pieces of new shelving as a staging and work area for the greenhouse. All in one place, and I can even leave the tools! FedEx is 'on the way", so I'll enjoy my beer in the garage!

    @Kolunatic good to see you!

Plumber question. Also to anyone who does their own home maintenance stuff. We are looking at houses that come with the piping setup in the garage for a water softener. I assume it is pretty easy to install one right?

Alright. Cuts were made. Didn’t need to do much. I’m sure if I wanted to stuff them I’d need to cut a bit more but no rub and cleaned up. On to the next

    Hey
I don’t care for those but it’s your choice. Just keep an eye on the manifold cuz I found one that dripped in the wall for years and ruined a wood floor. I didn’t plumb the house but since I found the leak it was all my faulto_O
It’s a memory pipe so it’ll want to go back to a coil

So you prefer not using a softner? Is that bad for the pipes in the house? I grew up in Mississippi and dont know anything about this subject.

thanks man. I’ve come to the conclusion, that’s about as big as I can go without people beginning to question if I have a complex lol

We don’t like soft water. It’s all about choice. Doesn’t matter about piping.
I’m actually installing a softener in barn at a lower hardness level only on hot side to aid appliances.

Like Kevin says - matter of preference. We have one , also installed on Hot Water side, which is typical. Soaps, and detergents will work much better in softer water. Lockhart is hard and terrible. Some Hill Country places (like San Marcos for one), water is so filtered in the aquifers, it's not as hard and wonderful as is. Some isn't. Our cold and drinking water is unfiltered - soft water doesn't have a great taste.

So in San Antonio it shouldn't be too much of an issue? Also, we use a Brita filter. Does that soften our drinking water? I think it tastes delicious.

I'd imagine SA is pretty hard water. Brita isn't a softener, removes impurities and certain minerals. Mineral water is quite popular, and great tasting. Your Brita doesn't remove the natural minerals (much), mostly impurities. When you boil water, like for tea, you remove tons of impurities - hence the boil water notice. Softened hot water and normal hot water will be basically the same after boiling.

EDIT: I defer to the gent in the business! I'm a user! But I've had a water softener most of my life, even in Michigan - where water is great, and HARD!

We installed one when we moved in to our house, but it took a crap after 10 years and decided against replacing it, since they said it was outdated. We're moving in a a year or so, don't think it would really add that much value to the house. So who ever moves in just has to replace it since the plumbing is already done. We liked while we had it but now that we don't, can't tell much difference. We just use the Brita for drinking water now. Like every has said, it's all about preference. Don't think I will ever get one again.
