Maybe you’re right. I had considered the rust but figured I’d the tank is used for a compressor then it must collect water from the air. I thought if I drained it completely between uses I could prevent rust.

I didn’t consider the insulation, but maybe I could wrap in foam.

Anyway I’m starting to think this is more trouble then it’s worth. I was just trying to avoid spending $500 on a road shower.

Sometimes just need to bounce these ideas of others and have them poke holes in them. Thanks for the feedback. I will take that file if you can send it to me.

Yeah I was just thinking how whenever I drain my air compressor rust comes out of the tank :D

There are actually a lot of generic plastic RV water tank options out there too if you have the space to mount them somewhere. Anyway, the connector file is attached. Happy to help brainstorm any time!

    Just the basics
I'm not totally clear what the purpose of the tank will be for you. For showers? Just make a PVC type. There are lots of videos online about making them. I made a shower tube and am really happy with it. It took some fine tuning but it works.

That’s where I started , but ultimately decided I didn’t like the look and it would take a long length of pipe to hold the amount of water I thought I needed.

I may just accept that it doesn’t have as refined of a look and just carry extra water elsewhere and refill.

I was looking at getting in on 2.0. But it says sold out and lots of delays, I’m sure it’s worth the wait though.

Honestly I’ve been pretty disappointed in the lack of communication. I know it’s a small operation with lots of customer demands, but a quick email to say “we’ve got it, it’s probably gonna be a couple weeks before we get back to you” would be really appreciated.

Stellar set-up! Trying to pre-plan a system for the back of a topper similar to this. Did you get Tradesman to install the switch panel during construction? Or something you DIY'd after? Wondering if that is something I should get them to do while they're building it.

I DIY’d it after. I’m sure they can wire in any lights you want though. I definitely wish I had thought of it before because I could have had them run some wires for the lights in advance for a cleaner look. But they were able to do some creative add ons to make it work for me once I figured out what I wanted to do.

Added a winch disconnect for a little extra insurance.

Also scored a Wilco Hitch Swing to replace my Kuat. This thing is stout AF and love that it is a higher clearance than the kuat.

And I finally gave in and got a 1up bike rack. The Yakima Dr Tray just wasn’t doing it for me.

This is off topic, but could you snap a pic or two of your sweet sliding door bike storage area? Looks pretty sweet from what I can see and I'm looking for ideas for bike storage in my garage that keeps them "clean" from sawdust, etc.
