The newly designed LIFTd Fuel Cap Cradle is now available!​

LIFTd Fuel Cap Cradle is a simple and easy to install solution designed to hold your OEM fuel cap on the gas door during refuel. Made in USA, the cradles are manufactured using Multi Jet Fusion Black PA12 Nylon Plastic allowing them to withstand chemicals (fuel of course) and high temps. They can flex without breaking, but once mounted, the retaining tab will prevent play.

If I can figure out how to get the bolt out to drill this in I’ll be getting one! I tried installing another brand gas cap holder and disc red my bolt is so rusted and corroded I literally cannot get it out.

 

Shoot, sorry to hear that! You're not the first I've heard about this happening. Toyota really didn't want that screw coming off!
You might have to get some vise grips on it and slowing remove it. Worse case scenario, you may have to drill it and use an Screw Extractor.

 

Yea I tried extracting. I think it’s now gotten so bad the only option will be to drill it out. Almost hollow it out. And then make it weak enough to snap. Toyota didn’t use any sort of stainless steel bolts whatsoever anywhere. Or even painted to help protect corrosion. Pretty sad honestly.

 

Bummer man. Try drilling in a little deeper and retry extraction. If that doesn't work, drill, tap it, new bolt.

Take a dremel and cut a slot in the head of your screw so that a flat head screw driver will fit. From there, impact driver outta do it if you can't get it by hand.
