Every mans nightmare... you regularly rotate your tires on time, you are diligent with keeping correct psi, and you just bought your tires less than a year ago. BUT THEN... returning home from a long road trip, you decide to check your tires and, WHAMMY, you’ve been hit with bfg’s all new racing slick a/t ko2 at a first glance.

Alrighty now that I’ve gotten my silliness out, what in the world could have caused this problem? I got a rotation before leaving for Montana from California and back l and never saw signs of wear before the trip. I made sure I had 35 psi cold in the tires before leaving and I trekked on. I had just got my last alignment from Solo motorsports when they had worked on my lowers as I am running their long travel +3.5. In the past, the specialist alignment techs I’ve gone to have told me that the tie rod extensions were maxed out so I am assuming this tread wear pattern has something to do with the toe? I’m no alignment guy and I don’t know how toe affects tread wear but I’m assuming that the tie rod extensions are much too short, or long, causing my toe to be off cause I can’t think of anything else and now I need new tires (perfect time to get falkens again). The wear is also significant from about the middle of the tire all the way to the inside as it gradually gets worse but it’s really hard to capture on camera. Also the wear is much worse than it looks. Havent washed the truck yet sorry!!

also wanted to say that my tires did have correct pressure even after the wear occurred!

My only guess would be too much toe out or some serious negative camber. I'd take it back to the original alignment shop immediately.

Curious as well as that is where all my tire wear is normally at. Not that sever, but it does show uneven wear after 10k or so. I don't have extended travel yet (its being shipped), so wonder why that is happening.

I’m gonna email solo about it probably cause it has to be something with the toe rods right? I mean if you look there’s no adjustment room at all on those

Dang dude my condolences that sucks. You just noticed this though? Seems like it would take at least 2 months or so for this type of wear

Are you saying the inside of the tire looked just like the outside of the tire prior to your trip? How many miles on the trip? And this all happened in a single trip?

Take a head on picture of the front. Far enough away to see both tires.

Yeah the tires were absolutely symmetrical, and this happened just on a trip to Montana I returned home from yesterday

If everything was good prior to the trip and you had rapid wear, something came loose and shifted.

Might be the angle but the camber looks like it's way too negative in the first pic.

Do you have a pic directly at the front of the truck? I feel like for wear like this to happen your camber has to be visible to the eye. I had a 335 that had a decent amount of camber and it took months for wear like this to develop

Here’s the best picture of the front I can get right now, The camber can’t be bad enough to cause this big of a problem I don’t think. I agree cause I thought it was camber at first too. 45E6135F-EB1C-4FFA-9C24-7A2859FBF0BD.jpg

also you can kinda see how the pattern cones in this pic that I was talking about.

I wonder if he could just take a look and try and figure out the issue before I have to spend so much on an alignment

A combination of improper toe and camber can cause this. I had a similar thing happen about 10 years ago to a nearly brand new set of Michelin Pilot Sports. I was livid to say the least. If you have the time, you can always do a rudimentary alignment at home to try to improve it for the time being.

In that picture you just posted, left front camber is way way out.
