There are a couple of seals and a stake nut involved.

Remove the 4 bolts that hold the front driveshaft to the flange. Mark the mounting orientation so you can put it back together the same way. When you remove the driveshaft you will see the stake nut. Remove the stake nut and the flange will pull off exposing the seals.

Here is the part numbers for my '02:

Front Output Shaft Oil Seal 90311-41012

    Companion Flange Seal (small) 90312-23001

    Stake Nut 90179-22016

You may be able to get away with not having to change the small companion flange seal. Depends on what you find when you get in there.

Picked up a nice used 20T Air/Hydraulic Shop Press today, ahead of a couple planned jobs. Seals and bearings (and brakes) in the rear end are beyond needed, and I can now rebuild my transmission when it comes time (the time is near.)
The air pump on the press needs rebuilding, ordering the parts Monday. Adding a foot switch and probably casters shortly.

It's not so bad. Output seal is most likely the culprit. Timmy-the-Toolman has a video outlining how to change this. All the part numbers and tools used are listed in the description, super detailed, makes it a cannot fail job. Timmy even gives Home Depot options for those of us who don't have all the fancy tools.
I did mine in a couple hours. Let us know how that works out!

I had to cut the pointy ends off my frame horns for my Apex to fit my 04. Seems some trucks have to and others don't have those pointy ends. Other than that it bolted up

Measured mine at 3/4", top and bottom for both sides. I've been tweaking out lately, worried about the frame bending and was happy to measure it to be the same both top and bottom and side to side.

Driver side is spot on, passenger is a bit high. Something has been tweaked somewhere. I'm guessing it could be from when my truck picked a fight with a backhoe. Gap is 7/8" at the smallest. Can't wait to be done with this project. Just need to tie into the side supports and finish riveting.

That's the custom reh5108 shock mount. Weld-on, with greaseable bushings.
