@MESO Will you have any more complete kits in red? Dad is set on a factory looking shifter. I picked up a black one the last time you had them in stock.

I've got a v1 Stage 2 DIY in red if anyone needs it. One of the tiny connectors and a negative wire was lost somewhere in my dash when I removed the harness which will require some soldering; the knob buttons, wires, and connectors are 100% intact, however. Price will be hella cheap for my impatience.

I think what would be cool if Messo would make an extension wire that connected between the wires already in the shift knob and the wires that connect to whatever function you're using. That way you could pull the boot down a little bit, disconnect the wires to the shift knob without having to pull the whole plastic paneling that covers the center console. Which I find myself doing more often than you think.

It does have a connection right after the knob.

You're s******* me! I never saw that when I installed it.
Is it right under the lip of the shift knob?

I interpreted @CP40 's comment as to a "quick disconnect" at the top of the boot (near the knob)... as opposed to 6 or so inches from the knob so when we have to take the knob off, we don't have to lift the center console up to disconnect the wires. Before you can even unscrew the knob, you have to disconnect the wires from underneath the knob... feed the wires back up though the boot... THEN start unscrewing.

OK I miss understood. The knob does have connections 6" away. I tried having them right under the knob(in the collar) there just isn't enough room unless i go back to the really small connectors. Then wire starts getting tight and can yank out. Right now is the best way IMO., If you need to disconnect, just pop the console up and unplug both sides.

Oh, I'm cool with it. Theoretically, you shouldn't have to remove the shift knob that often. The pros on this mod outweigh this con... by an elephant.

The way I do it is- take a pick tool or knife and pop off the back of the shift knob, then pop out the two switches still connected and lay them to the side. Then unscrew the knob. The switches stay laying there hooked up.
When you’re ready to reinstall, just screw the knob back on, then pop the switches in and pop the knob cover back on.

    MESO god approves this method!!!
Good to know I don't have to undo the whole thing just to tighten the shift knob a bit more, lol.

I am currently waiting on more shift knobs from Toyota(BACKORDERED)
But in the mean time, I made some red and black DIY kits. Limited QTY, so get em' while they are hot:D

BTW, If you have OrangeVirus ECU tune... this is a MUST HAVE IMO. OV tune now uses the ECT button for the "high performance" ECU map switching. So having it on the knob makes it super convenient.
