4 banger or a 6

Which one would you rather have a 4 or a v6 this a thread about the benefits of both.

 

V6 for towing and hauling capabilities. Plus, not that it mattered, it was the only engine offered in the double cab when I bought mine.

 

If you're getting the std cab, get the 4.

If you're getting the access or double cab, get the 6.

Lock it.

 

I like my v6 just cuz its a reliable and gots some power sometimes I wish I got a 4 banger stick for better gas milage but if I did I would get a single cab and does anyone know if toyota make a v6 single cab cuz that would be my choice a v6 single cab 4x4

Depends what you can afford. Mpg's are not too far off from one another.

 

I have a Double Cab with a 4 cylinder. Everyone seems to have a problem with it, but I think it's perfectly fine. That being said, each engine is suited to it's own uses. I'm not expecting to be able to tow a house or anything, but it pulls the truck and my family just fine and gets pretty good MPG's in the process.

 

If I want to pull a trailer I get a 6, if I want to pull flowers I get a 4.

 

I had a V6 in my '99 and now have a I4 in the '10. Very happy with the I4. I actually found the V6 to be very overpowered for what I use it for. Unless you're towing a trailer regularly, go for the I4 otherwise you'll always be wondering how much gas money you could be saving. Just my thoughts.

i havn't taken mine in the mud but the 4 dosn't have any balls lol

 

go to www.fueleconomy.org and look for the 2011 tacoma models and see for yourself it the (city only) mpg gain is worth it.

 

Depends on what you are planning to do. V6 if you are going to tow .... I4 otherwise .... pretty much what the others said .....

 

4 cylinder turbo diesel.

 

I say v6 just for more power even if you dont need it all the time. Plus just the fact that its a v6, haha.

I made that decision last year and went V6.

The 4 was "adequate" when I test drove it, but I really, really like to have excess power available at the push of a pedal. The 6 put a smile on my face.

However, I do wish I had the fuel economy of the 4.

 

I almost got a new AC 4x4 I4, because it would of been the same price as a used V6 (young with low miles). I'm glad I didn't because now I'm at 6,000+ feet and with 255/85/16s. I really would hate to have to re-gear.

 

No contest for me - I'm not paying thousands more for significantly worse mileage.

Maybe if I were doing more serious hauling or towing, but there's none of that in my foreseeable future.

I'm going to spend the money I saved on a motorcycle, get my acceleration jones that way!
