Everything LEGO thread!

I think the excitement and look on the kiddo's face when he sees it will be definitely worth it! Besides, when is a Lego set not what you want it to be?? My love of all things Lego definitely came back when my son got a couple small sets for his birthday last year, and just building with him makes for a great time. Regardless of the set.

We were in target yesterday and decided to get a puzzle to pass some time, well they were sold out....so I got my fiancé to mosey on down the LEGO aisle and she just gave me this awful look while I was browsing. I was like “what you don’t like legos?” She said “I like legos fine, I just don’t want them displayed”

 

So, now that the wedding is off...

 

There you go, perfect rationale for either a bigger house or apartment with a dedicated Lego room like @HomerTaco has.

(Just don’t let her encroach upon it like Homer let his wife did )

 

thankfully I don't have a "LEGO Budget" so I just live vicariously through you all...especially @EODTRD....

 

It arrived!

Now to bring it inside, let the box sit for a bit, then open, then hide until 5/12.

 

I’d just leave it in that box. Easier to hide.

 

You and the Mrs are on the same wave length... we literally just talked about it, and she said the same thing. Plus she mentioned to leave it in the garage, on a shelf.

 

I opened the box to make sure that everything was OK.

The Barracuda Bay set is a HUGE box. HUGE! The Easter Bunny is in a small plastic bag. And the Easter Egg is in a small box. All seems OK.

Hid the box in a storage closet I have in my garage. Now we play the waiting game, until 5/12.

I know Pick-A-Brick is shut down for now but I’m planning some builds and wanted to see what people think about it?

Easy to use?
How do prices compare to Bricklink?
Parts availability?
Can they get parts that are out of current production?
How big of an order can you make?
How many different parts can you order at a time?

Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

 

if you want to buy specific bricks from LEGO, use this link https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/replacementparts. There is a greater selection of pieces and they are cheaper, though you do have to enter a set number that those pieces appear in. You can add pieces from more than one set.

 

King Wall-E. Really good build, but like the reviews said there isn’t quite enough friction on the knock joint so the head doesn’t stay all the way up. Easily remedied, but I’m happy.

 

I ordered some pick a brick parts. I had to do some research to get the part numbers. But it was easy to order and the parts shipped relatively quickly. Pretty reasonably priced. Although I haven't used Bricklink. I'm waiting for them to reopen so I can order more parts.

 

So I decided to try my hand at designing my own set....I wasn't aware that you could do this, or that there was a program for it until one of you posted it earlier.
Here's my progress so far. Any one know what I am making based of of this picture alone?

Built some dividers for my cabinet with the Tower Bridge set coming up for a build. Then it will be used to catalog my old sets to see what is missing.
