Hey guys. I live in Santa Clarita. Anyone know of a good shop around where I can get a snorkel installed professionally. Preferably someone who's done it lots of times. And would you suggest a Safari or Dobinson snorkel? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Scubatude is shutdown for the time being, but I think aquanautics dive shop is still open. But are pretty reputable and know what they're doing.

Haha. I don't think these are auto shops. Thanks for trying.

I had mine installed by @Speed Freek . he’s done it a lot of times and he’s very professional. I drove 2 hours for him to do it. No regrets. BTW I got the safari. Loving it. It’s not the same as dobinsons. DM him for the address might not be that far from you

Thanks. I’ll look into that. How much was total cost of parts and labor if you don’t mind me asking?

By the way, with the snorkel have you guys noticed it being more tedious when it comes to washing your truck as opposed to not having one? Obviously, I don’t think you’ll be able to drive thru a car wash anymore. Correct me if I’m wrong, lol.

Who knew adding a snorkel made such an impact on maintaining a truck.

It would be cool to see someone go with duel snorkels.

Dobinsons is the exact same thing as ARB but much cheaper. I'd go for that unless you want that Safari logo.

It isn't the same, the dobinsons is smaller in quite a few dimensions.

It's been done. I can't remember if it was a TW member or Instagrammer, but it was 1st Gen that had some parts swapped out. Don't remember the full story, but essentially he wound up with an extra snorkel attached because he relocated the intake, but didn't want a hole in his fender. Pics are floating around out there.

What are people's thoughts regarding drilling holes in the A pillar when installing the snorkel?

Mount the bracket with 3M double sided tape. No holes and it's more than strong enough.

Ah, they look almost identical in photos. My friend has a dobinson bumper on his LC200, looks almost identical to the ARB one as well.

You can't really see the difference in pictures, but the arb sticks out further from the fender, and the ram head is a larger non-standard diameter. The dobinsons fits more commercially available precleaners.

I I didn’t have the a pillar drilled on mine. I attached 3 layers of 3M double sided tape.
