I want a pressure washer. I also kind of want to run a hot water pipe to my front hose sillcock and put in an adjustable mixing valve so I can rinse the truck with warm water in the winter. The price of the copper pipe stops me. And I probably wouldn't actually be motivated to go out in the cold and use it.

If it's too cold for the water to not freeze, I won't be washing my truck. Have you looked at PEX? I was against it at first, and then I used it to replace my burst pipe in my garage (I have a pipe runs along the garage wall and then has a hose head). Left the door open one night on accident, of course it was the one night of the year around here it drops low enough to freeze and burst the pipes. I now have a ball valve with a drain under the house to that line, too. Anyway, yeah in replacing that line I was against PEX at first, and then I tried it - and am now a convert. Advice: Get red and blue lines....I only have blue because I used it to replace the hose line, so now my dishwasher line is....blue....:D

I got mine for like 50 bucks on facebook/craigslist can't remember which. It's done what I want - and if I wanted it to do more, I'd rent the gas one for one day I would need it and it would be less cost and hassle than owning one.

You don't have any plumbing in the same area that you could just tap into? You don't have to run a dedicated line from your hot water tank, obviously.

Unfortunately, no. The water heater is directly under the kitchen and bathroom, so the only hot water plumbing is isolated to that area (nice thing about that is the faucets only run for a couple seconds before I get hot water). Nothing anywhere near the sillcock I'd use. I'd be running about 50 feet once I'd account for corners. Once I price that much pipe, the whole idea becomes less appealing, though now that I look again the prices are much lower than what I remember for some reason.

I tend to forget about PEX. I've gotten away without buying much copper for my little projects because I tore out a water heater that was in a different section of the basement and kept all the pipe running to it. Whenever I've needed a couple feet of 1/2 or 3/4 I've had it. Only exception was the piping between the well pump and the first water filter--I put new in there and didn't save the old. It didn't look so good, probably because of all the sediment and rust running through that section for years.

I hear it's super easy to work with, so next significant thing maybe I'll use it.

It really is. Bends, swerves, etc. I got a crimper from Amazon not the PEX branded one. Easy to cut, easy to run, easy to join, etc etc etc. I was originally skeptic but now I totally understand why whole houses use it when built new nowadays.

Gotcha. Pex with copper adapters would be the way to go, then. Considerably cheaper.

It’s a bit more work but with PEX, it’s easier to have each faucet make a home run back to a central manifold. Allegedly more consistent volume and central shut offs all in one spot.

Some day I want to redo a good portion of the plumbing anyway. All of the PVC drain pipe and the pressure tank are dated 2014 so someone did a lot of work at one point, but most of the copper wasn't replaced. Some of it seems like it's an afterthought (like the fact that I have one filter next to the pressure tank then 50 ft of pipe then another identical filter on the other side of the basement) and there are a lot of weird bends that must have been to go around certain things when the basement was finished, but now they could be straight shots. I'd at least want to replace the filters with something that's all in one spot near the pump and more effective.

I didn’t think you could shut it off? I guess you could put something in the trailer plug to make it think there’s a trailer, but the tech and all the internal crap in the engine that makes it operate is all still there. Regardless, that will be a nice comfy ride! Does the trailer package give you tow mirrors and the brake controller?

I'll need to get mirrors or slide ons, brake controller included, and a simple programmer and premium fuel equals more ooomph and turn off afm

One thing that drove me away from the ranger was the auto shutdown. No cylinder deactivation but on the full size I know some are doing it. Not a fan.

I've gotta do a diff breather. I'll probably do diff oil and the breather together at 10k miles, I mayyy have had some deep water crossings :p

Oooo good to know. It's basic, barb filter and tube, but I'm up for supporting a local dude and the cost is roughly the same. Thanks!
