OME 885's w/Bilstein 5100's up front. Bilstein 5100's and Wheeler's 2" Add-A-Leaf in the back. 16" Konig Countersteer Offroad wheels (Graphite Gunmetallic).
It's for sale. Sign says it's a 1986 imported from Japan. Rt side drive. 146,000+ kms on it! 2.4 Diesel 4x4 5 speed. Everything about this rig is SWEET! Asking a ton for it! $18,720. I've admired it for the past year or so when it showed up in town.

That would be a deal-breaker if it didn't have A/C; My uncle knows from experience that installing A/C in an older non-A/C Toyota pickup is very easy, with minimal disassembly required, but those are all obviously LHD trucks. I'm guessing that since the steering wheel is on the right and everything is reversed, one would have to use a "reversed" evaporator core? If it did not have A/C that would be a dealbreaker because almost $20K for a 34-year old truck is a lot to begin with, and ridiculous for one without A/C; Second of all, it's dealbreaker because that truck looks mint and I wouldn't want to have to tear it apart to install A/C...

So if it had A/C $18k+ is reasonable? Not a lick of meaningful rust. Oil undercoated. Interior looks used but far from abused. Not like I'm gonna buy it or anything, I just paid that much for the rig on the right a year ago lol!

I'd negotiate a bit, but I'm thinking I could sell it for for over $25K in about a decade; Besides, that truck will easily last another three decades! For something that'll last that long, $18K is very reasonable in my opinion, but I couldn't afford to pay that much in cash right now; I would not buy something that old unless I could pay cash, plus I highly doubt most banks would finance something that old and with a foreign VIN...

Wow! I don't know enough about Hilux trucks (obviously) other then to know that I like them when i see them. I absolutely am well aware of their reputation! Thanks for your input.

The only problem with the older Toyota trucks is that if you get in bad accident, you have a high likelihood of serious injury or even death; Crash-test standards for trucks weren't as strictly enforced back then, and there was virtually no side-impact protection in the doors, for example...

Normally I think the newer Hiluxes are too Eurostyled (rounded off), but I'd drive this!
