So, anyway. Back to where I was before the interruption... :D

Took some measurements, put the car up on jack stands and got to work.

    New front suspension

    Near rear suspension

Put it back down on the ground and got about 1-3/4" drop all the way around.

Took it for a drive to bed the brakes in and to give it a shakedown. Have to say, it handles like a stinking go kart! If it had a bit more oomph and wasn't an automatic it would be a blast!

I think it came out pretty clean.

Just have to get brave enough to paint the OEM spoiler I bought for it and then I can install it.

I know it's just a yaris, but it is something to play with and the wife seems to enjoy having a modded daily driver. Parts are cheap and when I get it high enough on the jack stands it's pretty easy to work on.

I'm still suprised you couldn't find a way to fit Kings on it. :boink:It looks great and the little cars are a whole lotof fun to drive. I have always enjoyed driving mine zoom zoom zoom

I'm just glad I didn't talk myself in to going full QA1's or Tokico or something like that...

But then again, I'm not the one driving it every day. So... "it's not about what I want for the car".

Seems to like it more than the other one and likes it even more now. She is starting to get used to the suspension and is driving it a bit harder now. Have a touch of trouble keeping up with her in the curves now...

Hey, at least you have/had money coming in. Sure as hell beats having to work your ass off to meet even higher quotas for a "promise of pay" when "this all gets better" and nothing in the meantime.

Just put my head down and work. Same way it was at the quarries. Just not with my muscles and back now.

Got out in the garage early this morning to spend the day working on a long overdue project.

Started by notching some tubing and creating a frame for the driver side of the swingout.

Then made a cage/holder for my jerry can.

Obviously secured the cage to the swingout and new section of framework after that.

Sadly, I'm a bit out of practice on welding so not quite stacking dimes, but should still suffice.

Now to wait on the rest of the material to show up so I can complete the second phase of this project. Then it should be much more convenient camping next wheeling trip I get to go on.

Nice. I see the square tube securing the can, how will that work when you’re finished?

Yay! You found the square peg in the round hole!

Square tube goes through the round tube, in the handle then there is another round tube on the other side with the end welded shut. When the square tube is in place there are holes that line up to put a bolt through both tubes to lock it in place. I was able to place everything to where the square tube not only holds the can down, but also back in the holder to keep it pressed in to place.

May not work worth a damn, but it is what my brain came up with so I'm going to give it a shot.

That’s cool! You could use a quick disconnect pin to hold the tube in place, if you don’t want to mess with a bolt.

I will have to look in to that. I just had a bolt and nut laying around that was long enough so that is what got chosen for now. Thank you for the tip! ;)
