    Hello,

The only Toyota dealer in my country doesn't have the SLLC anymore and doesn't know when it'll be available, I first planned to go with the prestone toyota for a coolant flush but after many readings, there are some controversies with the 2EHA ingredient that they use and apparently it could harm silicone, gasket... Even, most of the aftermarket coolant got this.
Do you think it's a good idea to look with honda, nissan maybe mitsubishi dealers with their OEM long life and super long life coolant? It seems these brands are in the same boat with the ingredients they use but I'm not that sure. What I noticed however is that they are blue instead of pink.
Would you go prestone/aftermarket or is it a good idea to go OEM other japanese brands?

I've compared the ingredients that I could find on Toyota SLLC to other aftermarket brands and the only one I found that has what appears to be everything the same but one ingredient is PEAK Global Lifetime 50/50. You would think the AISIN would match exactly as they make it for Toyota and maybe it does, haven't made the effort to call them and ask.
Anyway, this is what I could find.

Step away from the computer, forget chemistry comparisons, go buy some green Prestone and some of distilled water. Then flush, change, and focus on other things. There is no sense analyzing simple things like this to death. If you change it every ~100k you'll never have any issues. It's been in my truck for over 90k and I've used Prestone for 30+ years, as have hundreds of millions of people with no issues. If Prestone was NG for aluminum, or whatever, we'd have known about it 30+ years ago as it's so widely used. There is nothing magical in Toyota's cooling system requiring their pink coolant.

You can all take what I am about to say for what it's worth - who knows? A few years back on another forum, a person said one of his nephews works in the plant where Zerex Asian coolant is made. Down one row comes these Zerex Asian jugs; down the other comes the Toyota dealer SLLC.

Like Steve_P said below, I think people over-think a lot of things and coolant is one of them. I am; however, more inclined to change it more often than 5 yrs. or 100K. Just my preference. If you tell me that I am wasting time and money, I will remind you that it's MY TIME and MONEY being wasted; not yours.

Yes but I don't know if some ingredient like the 2EHA could harm the engine in the long term, even if I change it every year, I keep to plan the truck as long as I can

I drove my last DD 313K miles with green Prestone after the initial flush of who knows what green stuff from the factory. Aluminum radiator. Aluminum head. Still running fine when I sold it. Not enough data? Again, move on to other things. It's like the people that insist on Amsoil and K&N oil filters because they are 1% better than the rest. That 1% is *totally irrelevant* in the life of a daily driven vehicle.

No one has ever had a vehicle fail prematurely from using Mobil 1 oil, Purolator filters, or Prestone coolant and changing them at reasonable intervals. Something else kills it prior; like a dumbass crashing into you.

And that is also why a forum exists, to learn and to share. Sure you have had your experiences with your vehicles, me not yet... After some readings yesterday I saw the dex-cool problems so you can maybe understand what the "I don't really care what I put in my vehicle" can possibly do...
However as you said, let's move on, that's why I finally went with the prestone red asian

Same here. I've been using this for years. Easy to find at every Walmart and relatively inexpensive. I simply do a drain and refill of the radiator once or twice a year which is extremely easy to do. 146K miles on it so far.

It's close enough to OEM spec.

Not Toyota related, but there were plenty of early Dodge Cummins that did not like(as in became paperweights) their supposed OEM replacement filters from a certain orange colored brand. Other than that, I agree.
