robinhood had some hate recently since they had an app crash or something like that. I really like robinhood for research because you put in, say, TRTX and robinhood has these in groups where you can find similar. You can see in that group where stocks are for the day (up down how much)

as far as actual trading, I like td ameritrade it’s done well for me. But robinhood would be fine too.

I’ve been hearing about the dollar coming to nothing for a while now. The dollar has been doomed ever since they took away the gold backing. What do we do? Idk if I would even rely on gold nowadays.. too primitive for a bunch of tech savvy millennials and whatever else they call those newly born idiots with big ass holes in their ears (no offense to anyone with gauges I guess).

Get a good financial advisor and follow his advise with an ROTH or 401k.

What I'm playing with on here, is my "gambling" stocks and I'm not investing much $$. My ROTH and 401k are doing well and I'm long term on those.

EDIT: Does your work offer a 401k?

Agree, definitely open one of these accounts FIRST before you dive into day trading with brokerage accounts etc. There are many options of financial advisors or roboadvisors to keep up with retirement accounts. This way the money is moved in your best interests over long term growth. If there is dips or highs in the market they adjust your money accordingly to make sure you stay on pace. I am smoking my Roth IRA gains through my day trading but I know that it will eventually even out especially after Uncle Sam gets his share. Day trading is for my “fun” money and is exciting during this turbulent market but at any day could take a s**t but I know that going in.

Ok I know this is probably a silly question but I want to make sure to do this right. I got confused because the fine print in parenthesis almost sounds the same in both options.
I want to make a small withdrawal to cover some expenses but I want for the taxes to be taken out already, before they deposit it. Which option would I choose?
    Thanks in advance!!!!

First option, if you take $1000, and pay 20% taxes, your check will be $800.
Second option, your check will be $1000 but you'll owe $200 come tax time.

In my opinion, first should've been called "net" and second should've been called "gross"

Thank you very much! I appreciate it. Both options reading "check equals amount specified" is what threw me off.

If it's important, I'd find some way to verify because I think they worded it wrong. Otherwise, I'm being stupid

You came through with that IRS advice you gave me, when you said the direct deposit is different than the authorization to withdraw, that was spot on.

Yea but I’m always wrong so I figured if I say it’s a red day, it’ll end up being green.

I’m just trying to help us out here man.

Check out the M1 app, pretty easy to use, and I view this as play money vice my mutual funds which will hopefully be something for the kids college and retirement.

This week will be interesting. Earning season can be hit or miss in normal times. I wonder who reported the guidance that drove the 400 pt future jump?
