I wear knee pads depending on the ride. If I’m doing long fast downhills (where I can’t see the bottom of the trail) then I’ll wear knee pads. Not so much because of the rocks but a large part because getting my legs tangled in my bike hurts for a while haha.

I only wear full face at the bike park, if I shuttled more I’d probably wear one too but haven’t shuttled in years.

The "sun hoody" has become my most used piece of clothing in the summer. I do a lot of fishing and hiking too and in both scenarios they are a life saver.

I'm a non hood guy because I'm real warm blooded, but their terminal tackle line I have a bunch of.

Mucho dislike. But then again, the Moab crowds have all been going to Fruita instead, and despite the utter shitshow it's turned into the last 2 months, I haven't heard much out of that area on the COVID front, so maybe things will be ok. I personally don't think that this is as doom and gloom as the news makes it out to be (You'd think it was Sarin, not a CoV virus), but I do respect taking precautions, esp in a place that isn't my home.

@Gunshot-6A how's the fit of the moto stuff compared to mtb? I assume they are on the heavier side of jersey construction?

As for the hood - you don't have to wear it, but when you are in full sun exposure for long periods of time it's pretty nice to be able to cover up. I don't wear them biking though.

Yea, I'm hoping that lifting restrictions in most counties will spread out the masses.

The jerseys I bought are very much in line with bike jersey thickness. There are def some burly moto jerseys though, like THOR, etc. But the TLD stuff seems pretty even across the board.

Fit is always so skewed across brands that it's hard to tell, but I'd say it's all in the margins. Bike stuff prob has bigger knee areas for pads because moto guys have the armored boots instead and have their pants tucked in.

as long as it's not 100% cotton, and not something with so many "graphics" on them that I look like a graffiti painting then I'm good.

I always wear them. Dress for the Crash, not the Trail. Full-Face at the bike parks or when doing Telonics here.

Oh yeah, full face for sure, and pads. Bike Parks with the high speeds and features are pretty gnarly when you do taste the dirt.

Yup, tasted the dirt couple of time. Broke my wrist on one of the times.

Anyone have recommendations on pants for biking? I have developed some major tan lines and was wondering if there are any good breathable pants that I can pedal in.

Also, Uniqlo has some active shirts that are similar to jerseys for $20. Look like plane tshirts no graphics.

Wear whatever the hell you want and is comfortable. It doesn’t have to be MTB specific.

In peak heat months I typically wear some marmot and Patagonia short sleeve button down shirts. They‘re mad comfy, light weight and breathe just as well as any other material.

New tires, XT brakes, XTR cranks/BB and the old SS is back in action. Such a fast bike when you push it.

3 days later this truck was totaled. :(

I had just finished the bike rack and bed liner about a week before, too.

Now I have a 2015 to play with

Knee pads on every trail ride (POC VPD air). Not taking any chances with my knees anymore. DH full face at the parks, vented full face for shuttles. Haven't worn elbow pads in a while, though I've suffered some pretty brutal forearm rash last year...

Man, that last bit of climb to Jacobs is a bitch!
