Will you be able to tell us what to change the charging setting to?
Since it sound like more than just raising the maximum charging volts.

Change the voltage to a higher voltage ( your target voltage )

And then increase duty percent, say by 5-6 percent at operating temps.
So instead of.... "75 percent" it's "80 percent"

Although, you can probably get away with not changing anything except the voltage if you don't have high electrical loads on the truck. Like no light bars, or other electric heavy stuff.

Welp, if we can change the alternator output I guess it's time for a better battery.

Good article with some good nuggets in there. Thanks for forwarding.
So i gotta ask, did you go through all the things he mentioned and have any results? I would think some of the obvious: have you removed it from the vehicle and put it on a reputable charger and fully charged it? put it through the desulfation process? yadda yadda yadda. Those kind of things we overlook sometimes. The one thing he didn't mention unless i missed it was checking the voltage that is in fact coming off of the alternator. Probably the best place to start. Also, check the temperature of the wires to the battery on a mild day after running the vehicle for a while. High temp would indicate a suspect connection somewhere.
    Hope you find this gremlin!

I am in the same boat as @Taco16LB and just tried to install and register the vfTuner and get an error message "Master Key(Email) not recognized"
I have triple checked everything and tried again several times and keep getting the same message. I closed the window and the vfTuner program opened and I was able to get my system ID ? zendesk ticket sent #15094

I bought VF tuner to do one thing for me. Change the battery charging voltage for my AGM battery I should have never bought but thought I needed it since I have a winch. So really all I want out of it is to have 2.0 and the battery voltage changed. That’s possible being a Dongle less tune customer and vf tuner customer? Thanks sorry if this is a stupid question. The VFtuner is intimidating to me.

From what I have seen so far that's a 100% yes. Pay your $79 for VF and it looks like you can boost your charge voltage for the AGM battery with no problem.

It was for this reason as well as simplicity I recommended battery voltage presets like a solar controller. 4 choices or custom. It could even be 2 choices (WET or AGM) and then custom @OVTune

So one question I have is with purchase of the VF License do you need to buy a separate cable. When I did the tuning on my STI it came with the cable to connect to the computer and the OBD2 port. I know it might sound like a stupid question. I know some others that are on the fence about purchasing might be wondering the same thing.
    Thanks for the time.

If you are a previous Flash Kit user, then you already have the cable.
Flash Kit users pay $79 to upgrade to VFTuner.
Dongle Flash kit users trade in their USB KEY Dongle for VFTuner.

If you do not have a Flash Kit previously, then you will need to buy the VFTuner KIT, which will include the cable, I believe.

The only reason for adjusting the charge voltage it's for a different battery chemistry. If you're using the stock battery you should leave it alone. As mentioned by many people already AGM batteries need a higher charge voltage then standard wet lead acid batteries. This is why people want to be able to boost be charging voltage.
