Found the seep/leak coming from the T-case... much better than I thought... It was just the base of the shifter.

While I was at it, I improved the looks of the shifter situation

If it was a young truck I’d probably care more, but at 285k I think it’s fine to move on

    Disagree...

Most of the "management" of these roads and sites come from off road clubs and people like me... that go through and clear miles and miles of the roads, for dead fall, rocks, and other things blocking access.

I just installed TRD headers on my 3.4L. I'm curious now what needs to be done to connect them to the rest of the exhaust system(from collector pipe to cats). Ive bolted the bank 1 O2 sensor into the headers already. I can grab picks if needed.

Can I forego the front cat and weld in an extension pipe with no consequences or will I need to somehow incorporate that front cat? There is approximately 3" of pipe needed to make up the headers to the rear cat. Incorporation of the front cat would take some refiguring.

Note: My truck is registered in Louisiana and has no emissions regulations, but I would like to do this in a manner that avoids any check engine lights.

You can either cut the front cat section to fit the headers, as outlined in the installation directions, or make up a "test pipe" as you've described to replace the front cat. You may very occasionally get a check engine light for catalyst inefficiency, but I think it would be pretty rare. Here's the piece we made for @Digiratus truck, he can chime in on any check engine light that has popped up.

Sweet. Just wanted to verify that I was on the right track, and you provided just the reassurance that I needed.

I've never done exhaust work before. As far as flanges and pipe...Is that something I can pick up at O’Reilly easily? I just trying to get this knocked out for a short term solution and plan to replace everything with a nice stainless setup in a couple months when the world gets more normal. My original stuff is coated in red clay and baked on so hard it may as well be ceramic.
