How old are you and what % of your portfolio is BA?
Assuming you’re under 50 and/or BA isn’t a large portion of your portfolio I would personally lean towards staying put, but I also am getting into stocks to give to my children so I’m looking long, long term value.

Me....Cut and run to other stocks. Everyone is in the same (roughly the same) boat as far as stock value going up when BA goes up as well. Flipside is I buy to hold and use the dividends for either reinvesting or as supplemental income :D so for me, adios! I actually dumped NCLH/CCL today a few pages back and bought RCL instead. Similar growth potential but with dividends instead. This way, next month/next year, I'm getting a dividend and my principal investment has gone up.

I agree somewhat, but we're in a different position right now (recovering from a 35% correction). I would just wait for things to normalize before getting out of something you once thought was good (if you want out anyways, now is a good time to do it and get into something else).

^ More on that, I am in a similar situation to him with F. I have faith in F and expect them to pay a dividend again. Would it be better for me to sell what I have at a 50% loss and reinvest it into a better company? Or hold on a few years and see how it plays out? I really don't know, but I am holding on.

I'm 55 and if I owned BA I'd buy more and hold.

    You aren't wrong. I'm not wrong. Nobody's wrong. And everybody's wrong :D

I have F too. Small position though.

I'm down 46% on my F position, worth about $1,800 now. I'll reassess in 5-10 years.

Thx guys. I'm 35. I bought BA around $98 and then again at $122 mark. I purchased them for their dividends and relatively low price. With BA I am currently in the +.

I would DEFINITELY hold with those purchase prices. In 10 years it will be over $400, probably a lot higher.

I’m down 27% on my F and I considered the same but decided to hold on, it’s only 8% of my portfolio and between super duty sales and law enforcement sales they’re not going anywhere soon.

Side note, I dumped RCHL but kept CCL since they do pay dividends just not at the same rate as RCL, IMO it’s better to be diversified in companies (although the same industry) than to chase the extra few dollars per year I would net.

Remember, you can always stop adding to a company, and just forget about what you have. Set yourself a reminder in 10 years to take a look at it.

A good quote I heard, I think from Project Life Mastery on YouTube, was this: your short term money is what you make from your job, your long term money is your investments. That can help people who are tempted to sell to buy things, that's what your job is for.

Not sure if you set an expiration time to it. But, basically a limit buy but opposite. You can set it to sell if it reaches a certain price, up or down, either to cut your losses or cash out when you reach a certain gain. Not sure if you can set "Sell X position when it reaches Y cost (which is 2x initial or whatever you decide) with an expiration date until I cancel" ?
