I bought my first Toyota, a first gen Tacoma in Memphis. Sure I spent a few hours working with the salesman during the purchase, but for me the most important person in the dealership was the service writer. He was the guy I talked to on an ongoing basis, he was the one that took care of my truck for me. The guy was super, he would suggest that some things should/could wait even though the dealership was selling maintenance packages. In some cases he would tell me to watch for a problem area because he had seen it on similar trucks. By being open, honest and transparent he instilled a level a trust in me that he had my best interests in mind.

I'm certain most dealerships value the sales team that can move units, but in reality it is the service department that determines if I buy another Toyota. The memory of the deal fades by the time I am ready to purchase again, but the performance of the service department is developed over years, not an afternoon, and is more likely to be fresh in my mind when it comes time to replace a vehicle.

I didn’t think they did oil change at 5k, I think they just bring it in first time to check everything when you go back at 10k is when they change it

Question for everyone. Before coming to Toyota, I drove BMWs for 14 years. After they went out of warranty I did much of my own repair work. I used the Bentley Publishing Service Manuals. They are very, very comprehensive and there was nothing I wanted to do that wasn’t covered. The books were not cheap - $150+. But you get what you pay for 3” thick and loads of pics.

Now for the question. Is there a comparable service manual product for 3rd generation Tacomas?

    Just ordered a set of F/R King 2.5s w/resi (25001-121/119)! :)

Now I have to figure out a leaf spring option. I was considering the Icon mini pack vs RXTs. But dude on the phone said SuperSprings SumoSprings.

I’ve never heard of them but the way he described them was like a helper spring? Plus I don’t think they add lift and may rob articulation when just regular off-roading.

I’m just wanting about 1.5-2” with the ability to throw weight in the bed and on the tow hitch without excessive squatting.

Out on the prairie. Great place to be except here in southeastern Illinois on nights like the one coming this evening.

I was thinking about buying a set of Wildpeaks for my truck but now I'm leaning towards the Cooper AT3 4S. I do have the same wheels as you have on your truck. Love the looks of them.

It will loosen the more you use it. Mine was the same way when it was new.

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
I dont know why they call them *springs" since they are not at all. what they do is help distribute the weight. My answer for you my fellow Taco owner is the RMAS system. Best of both worlds. They work when you load them up and barely affect ride comfort when unloaded meaning the ride when unloaded feels a bit more stable when cornering and hitting the occasional pot hole.
