It always does. Good news is that the federal government purchased 70 million barrels of crude during this oil price crash. That gives us a price buffer if prices get rediculous.

We're months away even if SA and Russia cease their price war tomorrow, which they won't. Even with the marginal increase in demand with this "re-opening" fiasco, markets and demand have to correct and align.

Wait wut. No it doesn't. Buy high sell low? And that's not how these things work. That purchase of mainly shale crude is a drop in the bucket. 77MBBLS? That's the loss of one day's production. That number also happens to be about the available SPR storage. Guess what? We're still exporting. Additionally, the crude quality, shale crude, isn't marketable. This is an attempt to prevent "independent" oil producers from declaring bankruptcy and creditors losing even more money. It's a bail out that isn't going to have any meaningful effect but spend more federal dollars (brrrrrrrr goes the fed printer).

I've been doing this for a long time, man. I'm happy to go more in depth about this if you want. It's a dark fucking time for the US (and global) oil industry but it's also incredibly fascinating and unprecedented.

 

I wish I could hoard gas... I’ve only been riding the Harley so filling up premium is running me 2.39 right now so I only am paying like $8 to fill the tank. I’m only driving my truck once every like 2 weeks. Took it out on Sunday to my friends and it just barely started

 

Ugh, saw a Wal-Mart employee shopping for a customer with face mask covering everything but the nose. She was a kid probably didn't care. Saw another employee wearing eye mask covering over his nose and mask. Wish I had a real one to give him.

 

Filled up for $1.20 in South Austin. This will definitely be a great summer for the family road trip.

 

Premium all day, every day lol. Last I checked we were still under $2 for premium...

Cost is about $6-8 for me throughout the year for a tank.

 

That's topping off supplies for basically nothing. With the way government is spending, I'd prefer every government employee gets their paychecks cut and eats bologna and mayo for the next 8 months.
