How important is getting those punch holes in the weather stripping right the first time? Pretty dang important.

What do you do if you screw them up? Break out your Dremel or other rotary tool, then use the spacers and a marking tool to figure out where you need to trim, and get to trimming.

At least that's what I did. :anonymous:

Is the purpose of silicone for the actual bolt or what? Would just some thread sealant on the bolts be all you need?

    WAY TOO MANY
Silicone is a better option to insure no water seeps into cabin. I definitely would NOT use thread sealer as an alternative.

@RubenZ what @Gregw138 said is correct. I was one of the lucky fellas with the leaky 3rd brake lights and let me tell you, you do not want water coming into your cab. Putting a 'hershey kiss' of silicone down for each bolt helps keep spacers in place and also ensures you have the best seal possible around all of the bolts.

Apparently my truck is a little special. The two holes above the driver door were covered just enough to block the bolt from going in. They got dremeled out a little to make room.

I tried to get in close for the shot, but if you look close you should be able to tell that the hole in the metal of the roof is not centered very well, and that's blocking the bolt hole between 1200 and 1500. The two above the driver door were the only ones like that.

I had the same problem on both of my front bolts near the windshield on passenger and drive side.

Just ordered my Bravo front and back. What punch tool are you referring to? Would like to order and have on hand before the rack arrives. Thanks!

Sorry to steal upTOP's thunder but if you're a true fan, you'd have seen on Facebook/Insta the new TRUSS Soft top edition!

    https://www.uptopoverland.com/collections/tacoma/products/uptop-truss-tacoma-soft-top-2005-2020

I'm very excited, but also very cash poor at the moment. :(

The questions I told Drew I have:

The pictures look like he has a middle load bar. The part "middle load bar must be removed to operate soft topper" is that just when raising/lowering the topper? So you could run it with the front and rear bars and be able to raise and lower the topper at will?

Can you use an eX rack with it, or is it too tall? Is it level with a Bravo or Alpha cabrack with or without an eX?

Oh snap. Softopper has been a huge constraint for bed mount options. This is a sure purchase for me soon.

Quite a few things at this point..
Really interested in pulling the trigger on one of your racks. What's the lead time like for the Bravo rack currently?
