Same, Tacomas have such great resale/residual you can buy too and still upgrade every 2 years, many here do. Either way sounds like a good deal. Congrats. Thats quite a big jump from a Volt to a truck, lol.

Yes, the resale of a Tacoma also made me want one. There is every chance I keep it after the lease. I actually daily my volt to work and use it for long distance driving , easy to get 50 MPG on gasoline driving 55. Im selling my 2017 GTI and replacing it with the Tacoma as my "recreation" vehicle.

Theres a lot of trails in these mountains so im very exited to see how it handles, especially with the TRD off road upgrades.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Anyone taking the finance rather than the cash back?

That's what I am working right now for a SW TRD Off-Road 4 DCSB 4x4 with the adv. tech, premium package, LED headlights, and tonneau cover. The best quote I have right now is

    MSRP: $45,083
    DISCOUNTS: $5,433
    PRICE BEFORE TAX: $39,650

Still working the out the door price because I have a trade in.

I was thinking a good option would be to take the cash back and then refinance the loan for a better rate later.

I would run the numbers first though.

Someone on a previous post mentioned an amortization calculator they use to run the numbers.

I did on my deal, reason I only managed a little over 12% off MSRP and it was pre COVID in Feb. Some people are getting great rates though so may actually be better to take the rebate, just run the numbers both ways, it'll depend on the rate, how much you are financing, etc over life of loan which one saves you more money.

Solid deal on a highly desired config, take it thats with the rebate factored in? Similar truck (just missing adv tech, regular instead), $39.2k w/out the rebate, MSRP was $44.8k.

I gained a lot of value and power by reading this thread. Ended up buying a 2020 TRD OR 4X4 DCSB for $2000 below invoice which ended up being about 14.5% off MSRP when counting the $1500 Toyota Rebate.

Contacting 3 local dealers and finding one that offered $1900 below invoice gave me the power to force their hand to beat that price or I'd walk.

Another key tip I learned from Youtube was to not debate financing deals with the sales guy. When they know your acceptable monthly payment they are able to sneak a larger overall sales price into a seemingly acceptable monthly payment. I insisted that the sales guy just give me the best possible total price.

Hope you all find good deals during this crazy time. There was nobody else buying the day I did.

That's without the rebate. I started out with every Toyota dealer in AZ and parts of CA, TX, NM, CO and just got quotes going back and forth. I am down to three dealers now. The closest one is two hours away and the furthest is four. Depending what I hear, I should be picking one up sometime this week.

Yep so similar deal to mine and some others that didn't use or have the rebate available. Did the same thing when I was stationed in AZ and here in IL too, lots of Toyota dealers in Phoenix area to pit against each other. I've purchased from Right and Precision in Tucson, both solid dealers. Let me know if you are working with either and I can get you in-touch with the good peoples, 12 tacomas in been around the block a few times.

This is the first time I've done it this expansively, but it's definitely worth the time. Thanks, I appreciate it. I was working with Right Toyota, but the salesman I was working with took some information and then just never contacted me again.

Reach out to Chris Lopez there, he's my dude (mention Zach the crazy guy who's owned a shit ton of tacomas). You can also try my buddy who's an internet sales manager at Precision, Mike Dougall, both should be able to get a few more pennies for you without pressure (just don't tell Mike I have a 2020 now).

And a great deal. He's trying to get them to $33k OTD and his TTL was somewhere around $2-3k, so another $2-3k off the truck, I dont see that happening, but rooting for him.

I was able to get the truck for 329xx and they gave me 18k for my 16 SR5 4x2, so I can’t be too mad about not having remote start lol
