good to know! damn shop kept/lost the effing tool anyway. ill probably need to take this to mule sooner than later.

 

possible help offer- if you look into HP TUNERS they have near infinite diagnostic reading and engine/trans adjustments. i have the module, with credit rights purchased addionally for 200$ id be happy to loan this out. even have a guy to do tuning if help is needed for cheap.
basically i have the 300$ obd2 port piece to save someone some bucks.

 

I’m still running the UCON. Also haven’t had any issues with it at all

 

i almost bought that. they work well i hear. i do like this as i have a computer tuner wizard on dial. no way im tuning this.

 

If I had to do over then yeah, I’d go hptuners. But mines works fine and don’t want to have to spend more if I don’t need too

 

as ive seen. ucon is pretty badass with safety measures too. if you ever want to esperiment ill gladly help. my tuner lives in texas so its bound by that time frame. but i have the laptop to getter dun.

oh i know. I am in the HPtuners thread and have inquired about HPtuners. I actually have a unmolested ECU in the truck. I had the APR X-1, which i got back in 2008 before i got the supercharger in 2011, before i had the UCON. The safety features are the main reason i havent really wanted to swap besides monies

 

actually if i got 3 or 4 that would show up YES. id be happy to que up and host a tuning deal.

 

@JustDSM is my saving king of tuning. if you want to try hes without a doubt the most cost effective pro. id be happy to assemble.

 

Didnt urd pretty much just take over where apr left off? I thought they were essentially the same, but not the same. If that makes any sense.

 

im good, thanks. its all about the money tho. my setup is running good and no plans to upgrade that. if anything, the next thing i upgrade will be my rear axle to a Ford 9"

 

it can be violated. my tuning guy fixes all of it. .....eccept my reatardatioon..

 

pretty much URD was helping out APR with it. then all of a sudden APR said fuck it, were done with this and just dropped almost all support over night for it. URD finally came up with the UCON a couple years later. from what i have seen, the software for both are damn near identical. but the hardware is way better on the UCON. pretty sure @Torspd knows more about all this.

 

hp tune has done far better.

 

tor knows. he has done more research than most. probably why his truck wil maul mine.

 

It’s my understanding that $200 worth of credits is good for one vehicle ecu. Are you saying you have the ability to do multiple vehicles? Just trying to better understand.

 

pretty sure he has the hardware, you just gotta pay the credits for your truck and also for the tuning
