Yeah you should be able to use readily available material. You'll need some sort of bend to go from the collector pipe to the cat, not sure if your local auto parts store has a selection of bent pipe. We got the bend and the flanges from Summit Racing, I think they only took a couple days to ship here. Get new exhaust donuts too so it doesn't leak.

Heres a visual. Sorry fo the poor pictures. Tape measure says its a exactly a 3.5" gap. When installing I didn't cut anything like the instructions stated bc I had my trans out for a 4wd conversion. So, I just unbolted the front cat and tossed it out of my way.

P.S. The header install was a pure bitch even with the transmission out of the way. Can't imagine how fun it would be with trans still installed.

Edit: Notice that mine is a really straight shot. No bend should be required. @drr @SwampYota

Oh yeah, does look like a straight shot. It's been several years since I did my TRD headers, I guess I forgot about that. The Doug Thorley headers we did on @Digiratus truck required that bent piece I showed.

Been my project over the last couple of days, but I’ve got a few more switch locations finished. 71FA100A-B430-48EF-B159-3D1D00370482.jpgC3A18B52-6FEF-4BF7-B111-3ED650DB2F60.jpg

Got my fuse box bracket from paranoid fabrications with no cutouts. Looks like I should be able to cut a hole in it for my clutch master cylinder and everything should fit something like this:
    428DAAAB-033D-467D-A034-DF2D504442B8.jpg
I never thought when I decided that I wanted to add accessories about a year ago, that I’d be researching and parts gathering for over a year before I started running any wire in an effort to make everything nice and tidy. I should have everything to start on my bussman box and making harnesses/getting power to my switches within the week!

One of my friends gave me these Nilights that came off a tractor he sold. I was thinking that they were floods and was planning on putting them on my rear bumper or using them as ditch light. But, they appear to be spots from hooking them to a battery. Tossing around the idea of mounting them on my bull bar like this:89910BBB-49F1-48EB-8E95-D791202ACC49.jpgI have a 20” driving beam light that will go where the winch controller is once I get that moved. Not too sure I like the look of those Nilights sitting on top of the bull bar. My plan was to put a 10” spot beam light hanging from the tubing above the 20” light.

As Dan mentioned we did the front CAT delete but it is not without consequences. The truck will now randomly throw a P0420 code. More annoying than anything. It is important to note that your exhaust note will change significantly too. It will be a lot louder and have deeper rumble than before without that front CAT. At least with my old magnaflow that is the case.

The only thing from Summit that we used was that bent tube. The necessary flange came with the Thorley header kit. I did have to source an exhaust gasket from the local parts store.

Yeah I’ve heard it’s a pain in the ass install, half the reason I’ve put off so long.

Yeah, it looks like the TRD header terminates quite differently from the Thorley header.

This might sound stupid to some, but if you feel comfortable separating the trans for this job I would recommend it. I was fortunate enough not to have a trans or spindles in the way, and it was still a relatively tough install. I did have a harder than normal time reinstalling my starter though. The TRD headers confine it a bit more than the factory manifold did.
