    Now that I have your perverted mind's attention (get your damn mind out of the gutter...) I was greasing up my u-joints...minus the elusive front zerk that I was too lazy to get to and I got to looking at the underside of my truck. I bought the truck with the spacer lift already on it. (I know...I know... I'm getting an OME set up as soon as I get the cash....even if I have to sell my body on the streets, first I have to recover from the toolbox, Nerf Steps, and guns that I SO desperately needed for the approaching Zombie Invasion) The spacer that is on there doesn't look to be 3". Am I a ratard (think "The Hangover") or would it not take a 3" metal spacer on top of the coil to give 3" of lift? Seems like simple physics to me, unless the angle of the suspension comes in to play. I have 285/75's and it appears to be a 3" lift in the front and 2" block in the rear. Can any of you super smart, highly intelligent TacomaWorlders help me understand this?

    no. whatever you lift is multiplied by 2. a 1.5" spacer yields a 3" lift IIRC

    yeah, when it comes to lifting math or science or some shit is involved...

    in order to gain 3" of lift, the thickness of the spacer will be 1.5" or close to that...

    does that apply to the rear as well? I understand these are noob questions, but I am learning. I like to know the science behind WHY something is the way it is. Thanks for the input fellas, I feel slightly less stupid than I did 10 min ago.

    no the only way to lift rear is a by adding leafs to the pack or adding block. whatever size block you get = lift

    its something to do with angles i think chris4x4 went over in another thread. but i cant begin to explain it
