AR-15 BS Thread

Does this small gun shop have an online store? Virginia is completely sold out. I've been hunting for my first rifle for the last 2 months, and unless I buy from some shady auction site, meh. I'm pretty dead-set on a pre-built BCM build or a Diamondback DB-15. I like the looks and basic reviews, and pretty sure either build will do me good as my first (of many, I'm sure).

 

I second this 100% a budget rifle is just that a budget rifle. I have found they have been just as good as some higher cost versions I have a Rock River low end rifle (cost $500 bucks new off the shelf) that at 100 yards with with good decent ammo open sights will hold groups a quarter (0.955) size or maybe a little larger at (1.205) that's damn good for $500 bucks in my book and did nothing too it!....

Out of 6 AR's i have a Sig 516,Sig 716 and Rock River Mid length LAR-15 and 3 builds with misc built lowers all core 15 uppers all will hold groups same or smaller.....

 

VA sold out? Where have you been going?

Painted my new build today: aero “freedom” lower, BCM 11.5 upper, Geissele trigger and LPK. Used a video made by Garand thumb, aka meme lord, aka flannel daddy, aka Travis Haley’s son, to make this sick paint job. Now my mom won’t be able to find me when she picks me up at the end of the airsoft match

BCM 11.5" with the 10" KMR?

What barrel did you go with? Love my 11.5” Enhanced lightweight barrel also on a aero freedom lower. Went with the Sba4 and really wish I would have went with the sba3.

 

Do you feel like the SBA4 is too bulky? It looks really bulky compared to the SBA3. I'm wanting a SBA3 or SB PDW so just curious to hear from others with experience.

I got the enhanced lightweight too but they only have the fluted barrel option available at the time. After about 100 rounds, it was honestly too hot to touch without a glove but other than that I love it. I also have a “splitfix” on my sba3 so it makes it much more firm whenever I’m *not shouldering it

 

Yeah, Sba4 is just too bulky.

Does anyone have experience with New Frontier Armory? I've been thinking about building a 9mm AR and they have lowers that use MP5 magazines. Looks way better than the glock style magazine.

 

Going through variations on how to distinguish my mags for different calibers ( 5.56 & 300BLK). This is what I came up with for my 300BLK mags. 5.56 mags are plain. What is everyone else doing for this?

 

I was having feed issues with some 300BLK ammo, so I got the PMAGs specifically for 300BLK. They are marked 300BLK, but I used bright nail polish to make it stand out. I also used a labeler and made a bunch of 223 labels and stuck them on those mags.

 

I have seen those. My build is still in progress so it is yet to be seen if I will have issues. But I will keep that in mind for the future
