I agree with @Digiratus, just do a housing swap. I bought “broken” retrofits from the classifieds and just swapped them into my housings. It was the same situation though, projector lenses were fine, housing clips and mounts were broken. It’s so worth it to have the retros in. And as a side note, I had hikari LEDs in my OEM housings and going back to that would be a serious down grade.

I still have the Hikari LEDs if you want them. They’re just sitting on my shelf in the garage. But they were only temporary for me while I planned out how I was gonna afford a retrofit.

ive got an SOS rear disc conversion on the way with parking brake using 2014 4runner calipers rotors and pads.. its ment for a tundra, but supposedly all you need to do is shorten the ebrake cables and it'll work. they sell just brake brackets if you dont want the parking brake. aint the cheapest setup though

Nice, I’d love to hear your opinion on stopping power with the drums vs rotors once it’s installed.

its going to be a wee bit. the trucks still just a bare frame. but i plan on reporting how well it fits. i decided to bite the bullet because worst comes to worst, i'll put the kit on my tundra if it doesnt fit the taco right, @mechanicjon also has the SOS kit, but i believe his uses the sequoia rear brakes which was the older version. he has not done the install yet

I guess i could do that and since i have a DD, i could take my time. Is it easy to take the old retro fit apart from the old housing?

What makes you say that it's not in 4x4? Does the front driveshaft spin?

If it wasn't cut and glued in place it should be a matter of opening up the housing and unscrewing the back of the projector's nut and removing.

If you look at the back of them while still installed you should be able to tell right away if it's been hacked up or if there is a nut holding it in place. Just remove the igniter from the bulb and the rubber boot.
