Ask around in the north east section you’d be more likely to get an answer.

What size stainless pipe do I need to get my neighbor mechanic to order for my reroute?

Here's an updated pic with RCI's reroute transfer case skid/cross member installed. Looks to be a little over half an inch of clearance. I'm happy with it!

I like this re-route. Moves it up, uses stock shields, does not change the location.

Finally got around to an exhaust re-route. I wasn't going to do it because I have the Mobtown skid setup (for non-reroute) but I hit it pretty hard about a month ago and the exhaust would rattle against it (at certain harmonics) It annoyed the crap out of me.

No more issue now! Time to put the armor back on. Once it breaks I will be replacing it with a new set, unless I decide that the extra inch is worth the $$ (or someone here on TW is making a set and wants to sell me one on the cheap)

    IMG_1828.jpg
I did check and it sounds like the left side cat may be void on the warranty (if there is an issue). However, the right side should be fine because it has not been modified. Again, it is not for sure the warranty would not be honored, at least not until something happens and I test it. But at least I went into it with eyes wide open.

thought I’d add an update. I added a shield for the rear of the tc actuator.

So it looks like they moved the double heat plate/shield back and up into the space between frame and t-case. Are you able to pull the shield plates to grease the zerk that's tucked up there (at least on my 3rd gen)?

Yup, to my knowledge he just raises it. On the 2nd gen there is quite a bit of dead space between there. I really don't think it's increased the Tcase temps at all.
For the front ujoints? I don't have a problem getting to them.

How was the heat shield modified to move it up? My exhaust is going under the knife next week, hopefully to pull off something similar to yours.

I was gonna peak under this weekend while doing my leaf pack replacement, as far as how the spacing looks on the 3rd gen.

Exhaust re-route, completed! TIG welded 2.5" 304 stainless, even though the rest of the system is 2.25"? No kill like overkill!
We tried to make the OEM heatshield work, but with the pipe diameter it just wasn't happening. A spacer to raise it, hammering it into different shapes, in the end it was easier to just wrap the pipe. Clearance was just too tight with the front driveshaft.

Kind of a shame you had to wrap the pipe. That is hands down the most gorgeous exhaust reroute I have ever seen. The quality of metal, bends, and welds on yours makes every other reroute in this forum look like a hack job.

The guy who did my exhaust welds up full systems for fun, sometimes even out of titanium. He does amazing work. All told cost me about $250 in labor and materials, before the wrap.

Curious how I can find this guy. Looks like a good job and I'm in the market to stop dragging my stock exhaust over crap

DM me if you're in the Seattle area, I can give you his contact info.

10/13/21 Edit: The person who did my exhaust is no longer offering this service, I will no longer be able to offer their contact information.
