A little more comfortable to shoot than my 45 XDs (doesn't tear up my hands as bad). Accuracy is about the same. I've put maybe 2K rounds through mine and have never had any issues. It eats everything.

The flip side is that if you have a gen 1 XDs you have that stupid chunky grip stippling. The mod2 version of the XDs 45 has a normal stippling. I really like my XDs 45 mod 2. The major difference that brought me to it was the grip safety. This is the first gun I've owned that doesn't have a manual safety and the grip safety was a major selling point. Your mileage may vary.

I have the 1st Gen and after 50 or so rounds it does start to bite a bit. It has never been a significant issue for me.

    Always.

Only other pistols I’m intimately familiar with are G21, G30, and 1911s. Considering an S&W next, haven’t held one before so just soaking up info as much as I can. I have no need or want to go into a LGS right now with the hoards of panic buyers, so once all this shit settles down I’ll venture in and hold a few.

Seem to be an all around good platform, on par with Glock. Planning on carrying concealed, just looking into possible options. :)

Last handgun I carried was a Les Baer TRS in a Milt Sparks VM2. Not against carrying another 1911, but being that I haven’t bought or sought another handgun out since 2006 I’m a bit behind in the times.

Just bought my first Glock. Been torn between the G17 and Sig P320 for a while.

Trying to. I'm so late to the gun game, I've gotta catch up. Haha

I got into it early and flamed out after getting into the “well it’s only a few grand” phase. $3k+ 1911s and M1As seemed totally reasonable.

Pretty much sold everything off, and the knives I’d collected.. right now I have a Kimber TLE RL as my only handgun. I feel ashamed - although it has been a great gun. Had an extraction issue which Kimber fixed with a new slide, has been flawless since.

Good choice! Look into getting an extended slide release, make your life easier for you.

You should have led with that lol

It’s a good pocket gun. That’s what I use it for. Recoil is surprisingly better than my Glock 30s with the shield 45 and the trigger is better than the 1st gen shield 9s. Put some tritium sights on and you got a nice CCW gat piece.

It’s ate up everything; ball, hollows, critical duty etc. The slide lock and the take down lever was stiff as shit for the 6 months, but the more I used it, it worked itself out. Not much else to say, it’s just a small .45 that hasn’t had any problems, no real mechanical safeties, the way I like it.

I’ve seen more than a handful of reviews that say it’s very soft shooting. I know that’s a bit objective, but I’ve experienced that before with M1As and a 1911 (Springfield TRP Professional) - so I believe it. I’m a big guy, with big hands.. we’ll see, hopefully sooner than later I can get some hands on time.

    Congrats.

Wish we could get the newer gens in California. Maybe one day I’ll move to America.

It would seem, around here at least, that the panic buying has subsided. I went in yesterday and picked up the P365XL that I have been wanting for a while now (well paid for and now have to wait until the police chief responds or 10 days go by thanks to I-1639) and there were only a couple other people in the store which is less than when things were normal.
