    @mxtwo50r
    I thought I had sent a follow-up to my offer explaining things further but apparently it didn’t post or I sent to someone else idk :confused:
    Gist of it being I was going to replace the hub and with free labor but I wasn’t paying for the bearing or other components, that’s where the $100 came from and if I felt I could salvage the bearing I would and you’d likely get a good chunk of that back.
    I'll extend that offer to you one more time, even though I feel highly insulted by your complete bashing of my kit out of spite.

    Going forward I will be test fitting hubs to stubs before packaging so I don’t have any more claims like this.

    @MY50cal I’ll extend the same to you, I know you had misunderstood me previously.

    Sending you this hub assembly and money to reuse the parts and swap hubs leaves the possibility that the new hub assembly doesn’t fit this cv for who knows what reason, since we cannot test fit the 2 actual parts being used before putting the hub assembly together, also leaves the chance of wasting a new wheel bearing. If that happened, at that point we would be back to square one with more time/money/parts wasted. I appreciate the offer but I need to know 100% it will work before spending more money and time on this.

    With your new test fit plan... If you will sell a tested known to fit cv stub and bare hub (just the bare hub and new “nut” it comes with no wheel bearing, bolts, etc) I would be interested in that route if it’s not too expensive. Doing it this way ensures me 100% spending more money will get my truck back on the road since the hub/cv was already tested to fit before the hub assembly goes together. This eliminates any free labor on your end aside from dropping 2 parts in a box, I know I have a good cv/hub pair since you verified the fit, the potential of wasting money/time/parts is eliminated and I can move forward and be done with all of this mess.

    We've verified the stub dimension is ok, I don't think you're taking any chances because I'll sort through them until I find one with same that you listed. You could include the outer in your box and I check against it, I'll even upload a video showing function. But if you insist on a new outer joint I can't let one go for less than $270 shipped.

    So $270 shipped gets me a cv and hub that have been test fitted and work together?

    SO i know must guys are using this mod to add manual hubs to a 2nd gen, but I have been wondering and looking at this a whole different way. Could these hubs and bearings be used to update a first gen to modular wheel bearings? (provided a fully fabricated spindle is used) I guess what i am really trying to figure out is how these hubs interact with the outer CV's from the first gen trucks. Could they interface properly?

    If you made a knuckle with 2nd gen bore and bolt pattern then this would work, as long as the cv axle assemblies were nearly equal length and the two gens’ diffs are splined the same. Will this outer cv accept 1st gen shaft, no.

    Spent an additional $270 on a test fitted hub/cv to ensure there is no problems and I can be done with this mess. This is how the cv shows up. I don’t mind the bend in the metal seal lip, shipping happens, I can bend it back... but the chewed up rubber and metal where someone went crazy with a scribe or pick tool the entire circumference of the seal.... Brand new parts :confused::mad:

    Is it a job stopper, no. Is it proper, you be the judge... it’s sold as brand new high quality. Not trying to be a drama queen but I have paid good (additional) money for this kit. I expect it to look new when it’s sold as new, not like a beaver chewed it up.

    This just gets worse the further it goes. IMHO just file a claim and send all the stuff back. I really wanted this to work out but damn so many problems. I hate when his for both of you. Op for money lost and you for time which is way more valuable than money.

    That's excess from the molding process. Apparently someone tried to remove it with a scribe or some pointy object and scratched the back side of the metal. Does it look bad, yes. Does it affect anything, no. I'll send you a replacement.

    You don't meet in public, remember?

    Unfortunately, the only method of payment was friends and family paypal or money order. Chad is very concerned with him getting screwed out of parts/money, but 0 concern using both of those methods of payment he could never send me anything and get away with it. Basically protection for the seller (he definitely gets paid) and none for the buyer. I did get the parts he said he would send, but paying normally through paypal was not an option. I even asked what if I covered the fee, his response was quite defensive.

    This is the convo, with nothing removed or added about my payment when I first purchased the hub kit, again you guys can be the judge ...

    @mxtwo50r :
    I am ready to order this kit. Whats the scoop on the new cheaper part, no longer all toyota? Also once i get this what year toyota will I be looking for hubs off of? I got my FJ case already, now i just need your hub kit and to find that FJ front diff tube and ill be good to go. Are the kits in stock ready to go?

    Zack

    @05Taco4x4 :

    Hi Zack
    The hubs are generic, but are build as well as the ones from the dealership- they are a quality part.
    Use the selectable hubs from a 1st Gen Tacoma, these fit:
    Aisin FHT-019
    WARN 60459
    The Aisin hubs are what came from the factory.
    I have everything on hand except bearings. I just finished building two pairs, if you had only caught me an hour earlier lol. Bearings are expected delivery on Sunday. I could put in the mail for you on Monday if paid for by Sunday.
    Sounds like you're going to have a solid truck.

    Please send $1020 PayPal Friends & Family Gift (so no fees) to ToyotaHubs@gmail.com

    @mxtwo50r:

    Is it alright if i pay for it normally and I cover the paypal fee?

    @05Taco4x4 :

    If something is damaged during shipping it will be taken care of, I package the product very well to avoid normal mishandling. Everything fits perfectly, you would definitely have people posting on the thread if it didn’t. I am not advertising these as stronger than stock- people break stock components all the time. I can’t warranty knuckle heads biting off more than their rig can chew. Each birfield was NDI after production. There’s no condition which I’m willing to accept a return. I do stand behind my product and support it. By chance you are a knuckle head and break a birfield during a bind I can sell those individually, they aren’t expensive. That being said, you see the purpose built trail rig I posted- zero problems. My truck is wheeled a couple times a month- zero problems.

    @mxtwo50r:

    Its a pavement princess. Im not going to beat on it, i have some suzuki samurais that I wheel. I more or less am just getting it to eliminate the electronic actuator bullshit. I will get that payment over to you in the next few days.

    The response to my simple "Can I cover the fee" question should have been my red flag, but I gave the guy a chance... Here we are. So, unfortunately, there is no "file a claim"... but he "stands behind his product and supports it" :rofl:

    If you find this PM as ironic as I do, it's almost so ridiculous that it's becoming funny at this point.

    Literally 100s, if not a couple thousand, members have dealt with me over the years for something on this forum and I can count on one hand the number like yourself who forgot they are just talking with another guy like themselves who enjoys their truck and are operating in good faith. You got under my skin early because I hate drama queens and you were out for blood, to smear my hard work. I directed you from our PM to the public thread to others for help with your questions, try figure out what was going on, and you immediately turned into a drama queen. That’s why I didn’t want to meet up with you, the way you handled this- I don’t care for you as a person. Stop spamming and bashing my For Sale thread, this isn’t a discussion thread.
