Finally had some time to install this BEEFY CSF High Performance Radiator. Super easy to install, bolted right in with no issues. Based off the info on their website: https://csfrace.com/csfs-new-high-performance-radiator-for…/ it's a 2-row 42mm thick radiator, you can just see the size difference in the photos, and it looks soo good too!

Have you been able to drive it and see if what the temp differences are between the factory rad and this one?

Dang, $450! Did you have overheating issues, or trying to be preventive? I off-road in the desert, and low-crawl periodically. I monitor my coolant temps with an Ultragauge - the temp has never gone over 205 and gauge never gone past halfway, with AC on. These Toyotas are not easy to overheat unless you have underlying cooling issues. If I got this beast, i would consider removing the fan and fan clutch, and add a 12-14 inch electric fan. Looks pretty, I'll give it that!

Agreed except for the part about e-fans. Wouldn’t you miss that start up rush ?? I think this radiator is for forced induction. Kinda pointless without IMHO

@hx989 What is "start up rush"? I've actually considered switching to e-fans with the oem radiator when it or the water pump need replacing. I'm at 180K and, at this point, any moving part I move I seriously consider for replacement with a new part, taking cost into account, of course. I'm also thinking of the fan clutch - If I replaced the water pump, I would replace the fan clutch at this point, or go e-fans as it does have other benefits, less drag on engine and less stress on water pump shaft.

Edit: I haven't made a definite decision but I'm taking these things into account and I'm open to further comment and review.

That airplane sound when you first start the motor lol. The drag on the engine is minimal, or none even at highway speed.

the water pump and fan clutch are made by Aisin and available on Amazon for a fraction of the cost as Toyota and you will not be able to see a difference

@hx989 I am very aware of Aisin; already have the Aisin water pump on my Amazon wish list. But, I like tinkering. I have a dual battery setup and have the wiring figured out in my head for the e-fan. Just need to find a spacer to compensate for removing the fan and clutch.

As do I. For a daily driver you’re not gonna beat the reliability of the stock setup

I can't leave anything well enough alone
Did the radiator top cover fit on with the csf installed? since it is thicker, the mounting holes on the shroud are further back, and the plastic cover that goes over radiator to force air to go through it instead of over it doesn't fit the same. Wondering what everyone does, did you just leave it off or zip tie it on, or drill new holes, or??? Thanks

Yep. The intended purpose of this radiator is for forced induction trucks which was discovered by our boosted group's own @Roostfactor

Without forced induction I really don't see much of a point to it unless you do some seriously heavy duty rock crawling.

    rad!

    how is it holding?

I just got mine and it's missing the cap and CSF basically hung up the phone on me when I called their customer service to ask if there are any other options, not a lot of support nor service....

anywho, does anyone happen to know if there are any other options for a cap? I tried the factory one, doesn't fit!
