    Any contractor/handymen (or women) in this thread?

    I'm not hiring :D

    Just curious about adding a shed roof to my existing deck using corrugated metal roofing. I have to redo my deck anyways. It's got a solid base/structure but need to replace the railings and deck boards. My idea was to replace the outer 4x4s with taller 4x4s and install 4x4s up against the house under the soffit. The soffit is about 2ft wide so plenty of room to tuck a porch roof underneath. Then run joists from the inner 4x4s to the outer 4x4s and add roofing. It seems simple and hopefully inexpensive in my head. Any issues why this might be a bad idea?
