Ordered Saturday and received on Tuesday - fast shipping! Will install this Saturday and give my review.

 

Ordered Saturday. Got them today. Install is super quick and easy. Just do one side at a time obviously and read the instructions. I’m kinda bummed about mine though. One side doesn’t unlock after the tailgate has been shut and remains locked so the tailgate only slightly can come down. Every time I need the tailgate to come down I have to manually unlock it just on one side. It looks like it’s built to unlock the mechanism every time the tailgate gets shut. Even if I have the ratchet mechanism unlocked it relocks itself when the tailgate is closed so no matter the combo I have to manually unlock it again just on the one side. Another complaint I have about it would be the tapered hardware used in the pictured location. Doesn’t have a good fit since the hole it’s going into is not tapered. I need to get a hold of them and tell them about the issues I have and see what they say. Overall this is a great idea and would be very convenient if it worked.

I've got some DG metal ones that aren't adjustable, they work well for what I'm using them for, cost $40. Good idea though.

 

So these let you have your tailgate open at different positions? what for?

I haul a kayak in the back that is a bit longer then the bed. With the gate king it would make securing it easier.

 

Interested in this. Would having a Mobtown tailgate skin and cap be an issue given the increased of the tailgate?

 

I received mine today and I have the same problem about the hardware not being flush(to tail lights) and the manual unlocking problem. I'll fidget with it again tomorrow to see if i could come with a solution. I always wanted this, but what a bummer so far
