    So do you think meteors bounced or basically impacted and stuck where they are?

    It depends on their trajectory into the atmosphere. Most come in at angle conducive to a shallow bury above 2 feet. Most are iron based, therere heavy af and tend not to bounce, but rather hit and dig in.

    Remember, this strewn field is about 4,000 years old, so it probably skipped and bounced off the heads of the last couple of mastodons in the Americas, causing their extinction. :p

    Yes but also thought there was a recent one? Thats how they found these? And then figured out it was more and older strikes

    They usually come in fairly hot and can liquify the area it hits... melting pieces of earth and rock together to form some interesting combinations.

    You’ll have to attach a meteorite you find to it for good luck! I like the holder also. It looks nice! The stick is a perfect length for not bending over. Put a leather wrist strap on it too.
