Hahaha, I'm using the stock driveshaft with my truck with front leafs, 1/2" of slip through the whole suspension range. Forward shackles FTW!!!

Based on what @signguy experienced with 4WU, I'd definitely rather get the Barnes kit and make it work for the price difference. Selling your product at a premium is fine but it better work flawlessly and be supported well.

What's the point of building a truck without validation from internet or guys around the campfire nutswinging on blingy parts?

I’m only giving my advise as to someone that has no experience with how a link system works. So many factors come into play! If you only trailer queen the rig and don’t mind that then go for a builder kit, if you want a good streetable truck that won’t unload on corners go 4wu

The potential with a first gen cab is super high when you include an LS/Atlas, links, tons, and 42's but I have none of the time money or talent for any of that, so I'll keep wheeling my 4 cylinder, leaf sprung truck on 37's with my friends in the meantime :notsure:

With that logic, why even build a truck with a cab, anything less than an ultra 4 buggy or a cone Dodger is a waste of time and money.

Performance is a trade off of time and money. I'm willing to bet I could do 95% of what a linked truck could do in my leaf sprung jalopy that I drove 10hrs one way to the trail. The only thing it really sucks at is high speed trails and that's stupid anyway. Potential is all relative.

    Words from the dude above...

If you only trailer queen the rig and don’t mind that then go for a builder kit, if you want a good streetable truck that won’t unload on corners go 4wu

He’s implying that the only way you can have a streetable rig is if you buy the 4wu ground kit which I have heard nothing but bad things about. Same as diamond.
Everyone on the internet thinks they’re great/Toyota god parts but when you talk to actual people who have used them they have had nothing but trouble.

More expensive and same result of making brackets out of steel tube or buying pre made brackets from barnes or ruff stuff.
