Think this was what I hit my replacement spindle with. Paint is holding up pretty solid so far.

Interesting videos from this guy. He was one of the first people to post information about retaining ABS with manual hubs if I'm not mistaken.

 

any time you convert from drum to disc your going to sacrifice clamping force on the ebrake due to the reduced surface area for the brake to grab.
The SOS setup i have coming uses a factory style drum parking brake. still less effective than stock, but it should grab better than the cobra setup.

will the cobra set let the car roll though? no.

So I'm assuming the SOS kit requires a 17" wheel? But you can retain ABS and pay extra for the parking brake option. And the brake cables need to be shortened. You think if enough people mention putting the kit on a Taco they'll start selling a 1st gen specific kit?

 

i believe 16s will fit with the SOS kit. well most 16s, maybe not all. because its the FJ/4runner rear brake setup fjs did have 16" wheels (my taco wheels are 16" fj wheels).

id assume they would. all that needs to be changed is the parking brake cable length

 

they sell the bracket without parking brake too for cheaper. no mater what you do the ABS sensor sits on the housing itself. so ABS will still function

 

if you do do disks you need to do the master swap.. sequoia adapter will work. still not sure what size sequoia master is.. but sequoias are 4 wheel disc with the big ol tundra brakes and feel fine.



hell my 05 tundra has the SAME master as the taco stock.. so i dont know why people complain about pedal feel on the tundra brake upgrade.


with rear discs you will have a shitty pedal without a larger master though.

 

This will definitely be further out as my drums still have a lot of life left. $1700 for everything it looks like. First the truck needs a rear shock relocation and either reinforcement plates or a fully boxed rear.
