Hey, now that I don't have a topper on the back, I can actually turn my head and see my blindspot. It's going to be great.

Most women get uglier as they near "hitting the wall". But, Betty, yes Betty gets sexier the closer she gets to "hitting a tree"...especially with that new liposuction & butt lift job.
... Dr.Terry Dubrow would be very proud

It's not the backside I am worried about. Seems that side vision needs work though :p

What can I say B? Once the damn OP turned this back into a fucking build thread it became almost impossible to keep up.

Between working from home, which in case anyone was wondering, allows me to finally poop weekdays instead of holding it until I get home, and also watching the lazy fuck neighbors doing God knows what coming and going umpteen times a day, then spending who knows how much time deciding what to eat for lunch, then of course dinner, I have to do what I can to pay homage to all the contributors. Especially the new ones like @pabstsmeared . He seems like a pretty decent guy.

So one of the things I'm not overly fond of is the protruding hitch. Sure it's tucked up nice and high, but dammit it sticks out far. I'm going to cut it off and weld a new one on the bottom of the tube. On a normal truck this is a hangup spot, but being bobbed it won't be a concern and it will look a lot better in my opinion. With appropriate gusseting and welding it will be plenty strong for the light duty use I'll rarely put it through.

Why can you just push it in flush with the back of the bumper? Yes, you would have to reach up behind there for the pin but for as infrequently as you tow, a simple bent pin and clevis would be all you'd need and not anything that locks. You can just burn slots into the bumper, then take the hooks off of your trailer chains. Chains in slots is a 2000 year old way of hooking them safely.

Edit - Actually, you could then gusset the hell out of it on the inside and then you could use it to tow a decent weight.

I'm pretty sure this info is accurate. I've seen photos of jesus' trailer and it had slots burned right into the donkey. You ever read about jesus having trailer trouble?

Looks awesome... I really like that it is offset enough to use the bumper as a step. Most are tugged in closer and hard to get a good footing on

If I pushed it flush the hole for the clevis pin would end up in the middle of the bumper tube. If I wanted to do that I would have to cut into the back of the main tube and it’d be a lot more work and wouldn’t be sure if it’s effectiveness.
Thank you, that was very unintentional but it ended up working out pretty well!

When I worked out my flip up system for my cargo basket I had to do some hole drilling. You could easily do the same thing to make it so you could put a pin anywhere you want too.

These draw bars come in different lengths too. But again, drilling holes is not shit for #RandyFab

I looked it up in this really old book I have here. It also has information that eliminates the need for snorkels that I might be implementing myself. :fistbump:

Built another @ARCHIVE crossbar today. My original one worked, but it’s when I had my old welder and the welds suck. Plus I drilled my holes a bit off and had to use 3/8” bolts instead of 1/2”. Also with my hammer hangers being so visible now, I thought this would be more aesthetically appealing.
