I subscribe to the context where you enjoy your truck, no matter how you use it, where you use it, how much money you spend on it, how many shiny accessories you have on it.... blah, blah, blah... If you like and enjoy your truck, I am happy fo you!
Coopers, I support your decision as I am happy with mine. Are you thinking of going with an aggressive tire? Do you have a need for aggressive? I'm curious where you are headed there...

Currently running St Maxx 255/80/17. 57,000 miles still have decent tread like 9/32. They have been great in any condition I have used them in. Considering Cooper AT3 XLT's in 285/70/17's. They are jus about the same weight as the Maxx's, a little bit less agressive tread than the Maxx, and still have a strong agressive sidewall.
Why would I want to try something different when I have had such good luck with what I have? I don't really have a good answer for that. I'd love to take a step up and try 285/70/17's but I am too cheap to pony up for a regear. I am not sure if it would be needed as a manual transmission is a bit lower geared than an automatic. Towing the camper is the main concern. It only weigh about 1400 pounds loaded but still a viable concern.

If your current tires are working and holding up well, you won't be wrong to stick with them. I also see the other side of that coin. It's fun and adventurous to go a different direction.

Maxx’s are great for the first 30k miles then they just become unbearably loud. Also if your alignment isn’t spot on they will wear funky and cause hella vibrations...

mine are at 65k and have 5/32 tread left. I absolutely hate them.

after the Patagonia’s I bought wear out (probably 30-35k tread life), I’m considering STT Pro’s or KM3’s...hopefully by then I’ll have a DD, so the truck won’t be driven a ton.

i drive a lot of highway; that might be why. Around town it’s not bad. The shaking is annoying though, where I ran them for 10k on a shitty alignment.

If you are bitching about maxx's being loud how will you ever tolerate a MT? Max's were by far the quietest tire I have ever put on one of these trucks, even quieter than the atp's I ran for a while and those were pretty much just glorified street tires.

been doing other stuff. The honey-do list is growing daily...

I’m also lazy :anonymous: and want to get all the exterior shit done before the interior. Cause I’ll need to take out almost all of the interior to do all the wiring and sound deadning...will be a 2-3-4 day ordeal with how slow and meticulous I work.

I’ve got some stuff done. Posted it up in the SOS thread over the last two weeks.

Winch is now mounted, arb twin is mounted and mostly plumbed, cut my fog cutouts bigger the other day, like I wanted it done to begin with... still need to do the other side

I thought you already had a winch. Honey do’s need to get done and mine did. I as off for about 5 weeks and knocked them out pretty much the first week. Then play time just not much to play with
